Beating Hatton won't increase Pacquiao's future drawing power? You're calling other people idiots? Wow.
The point is an agreement was made and then Pacquiao tried to take extra - he tried to mug Hatton off. Of course Hatton shouldn't stand for that. Would you?
No genius, grab you're little computer and look at how many people went to his fight with Juan Lazcano. Nuff said
Wrong. Exposure to a market that otherwise might not be paying attention to Pacquiao. The possibility to win over new fans. You've demonstrated that you can't be impartial on the matter, and the resort to namecalling is laughable.
Pacquiao now obviously feels he got ripped off on the initial agreement. The promoters rushed into it, probably hoping they would **** him over.
Some here would have us believe that the attendance at Ricky's fights is irrelevant. Apparently there is nothing to be gained in terms of drawing power by defeating him. All you can do is shrug in the face of such claims.
That's right, I heard... from this This content is protected that was posted in the forum yesterday. http://www.gmanews.tv/video/35131/Pacquiao-off-to-US-on-Jan-23-to-finalize-fight-vs-Hatton CASE CLOSED!
Do you think it's about money? Pacquiao is asking for recognition. He has tons and tons of money that's why he can't be lured just with money at this point. What happened in the entire deal was, arum said yes to the 50/50 split without even consulting manny. Arum has been acting as if he was hatton's promoter. He did not back up Manny through this whole negotiation process. He's been saying that manny is lucky that the hatton camp agreed to the 50/50 split, that's bull****. It's arum's fault from how I see it. This fight should happen for all of us to see. This would be an epic battle. But this should be not be blamed on pacquiao being greedy, 'cause if he is then he should not be giving out to those who are in need in the philippines. He should not have been giving free medical care to those who can't afford it or giving scholarships to those who cant go to school. Pacquiao is being idolized by millions of filipinos not just for his accomplishments in the ring, but his generosity and love for the poor people where he came from.
Hatton selling out stadiums fighting fighters the caliber of Lazcano is evidence that the british market is not about the sport, its about the hometown fighter. the UK market will never shell out the big $ for a Pacquiao fight, even if he beats Hatton..
I can't see that. I see it going something like this: Pacquiao tells Arum he wants the bigger cut. Arum comes back and says he's got that - he's got 60/40, but Hatton keeps UK money. Pacquiao agrees. Then Arum does the maths and works out 50/50, with everything thrown in is actually a better deal for him as he'll get more money. Then Pac agrees to that. Then someone or some people tell him that he's the man - he should have more. That's how it seems to me - Pac doesn't really seem to know what he's doing.
Pacquiao being offered a career-high payday is apparently, "a no-win situation for Pacquiao." Or, so you'd have us believe. Your assertion that Pacquiao won't increase his fanbase by fighting and defeating Hatton is flat trash. You're big on your "future payday" notion, so answer: Does Pacquiao have more financial drawing power at the negotation table against Floyd if he beats Hatton, or does beating Hatton do zero for him, as you claim?
