to an exstent yes..

but not on the scale we have now,nowhere near.

Calzaghe is not overrated, he's a legit ATG

Jack Johnson was overrated

Haye could KO Wlad if he pressures him early but Haye would get stopped by Vitali

Boxers & basketball players from the NYC area are often overrated/over-hyped (Zab, Marbury, Tinsley, Telfair, etc. to name a few examples) whereas their crop of MCs are legitimately the greatest of all time. I guess this is a much broader scope than just boxing... more of a juxtaposition between sports and music from NYC.

 

How can you overate Joe's achievements.......no don't tell me i'll just look on your last post

I agree...They were evenly matched club fighters.

 

Carbajal v Gonzalez 1 was an overrated fight. Ive seen much better fights that were far less unheralded as this one, not to say it was not a good fight though.

 

Naz beat Barrera but was robbed by the judges.
