After seeing how he was being portrayed, BJ Penn told the UFC Primetime cameras no more. He isn't allowing access to him or to his gym for the show now atsch I ****ing love this guy
BJ threatened to slap Dana and called GSP a ***** for tapping out from strikes. I'm seriously liking BJ!
If anyone is getting KO'd it is going to be GSP, the reason GSP is so good is because of his engine and he is good in everything..... but BJ Penn is a much better stand up guy. This is the most important fight the UFC has ever put on, the UFc has never put two fighters in their prime in the ring at the same time. this fight is like Sakuraba v H Gracie, Fedor V Nog 2 and Rampage V Wany 2 or the ultiamte ultimate 93 grand prix.
Why would he choose to say things knowing there was a camera fixed on him if he was then going to pitch a fit about how he was being portrayed? Is BJ not very bright? :?
I think it was what Dana White said. When he said "BJ you better be ****ing training...." Honestly, not nuthugging here but BJ Penn is one of the greatest Mixed Martial Artist ever. He is trying to portray MMA as a mainstream, legitimate sport. Well that means BJ Penn is one of the top athletes in the world also. Can you imagine David Stern going on national television and saying "Lebron, you better get your ass in the ****ing gym or your gonna get schooled on the court"?????? But then again, this ENTIRE thing can be staged :deal
Honestly I don't think that scenario would ultimately carry any negative consequences. Lebron has far more credibility with fans than Stern, just as BJ does than Dana.
I don't mean to be a dick, but you kind of missed my point. The point was stern would never do that. And if in the crazy event that he did, Lebron wouldn't take to kindly to some suit questioning his work ethic training and practice.
I just got done watching the first episode. Damn, Penn is such a badass. That's why he's my favorite fighter.
I think I kinda got it, actually. Any public criticism Stern levied toward LeBron would be a drop in the bucket of public opinion; it would be ignored much as we've all come to grow used to ignoring White's horse**** by now. :yep Obviously it's unprofessional of Dana and that's your point, right? - to illustrate the gap in professionalism between White and other sports commissioners. But even if all commishes ran around acting like bitches, I doubt anybody would even take it seriously. Lebron would probably ignore him too, maybe even laugh about it; then, he seems a lot more laid back than BJ.
Yeah that was my point, but the other point I was trying to make was the contradictory nature of the entire accusation. Here White is trying to portray MMA as a legit sport, and the fighters as legit athletes and not just fighters. He is promoting maybe the biggest fight in the history of the sport. So he is putting Penn and GSP out there as two of the sports best professional athletes. yet he is on nationaly television telling one of them he better not be slacking off and to get the **** back in the gym. Just negates what he's trying to do, makes him, BJ and the sport look bad and he might not even realize it :deal
