Yes, Sonny should make every list, the Tyson of his time, the negatives sometimes disguised (to the casual) what a devasting force he was in his prime.

I take it you must rank Lewis higher than Holmes ?

    Defo not for me.

Top 3 is a possibility. Head to head a motivated Lewis can beat any of them. This fact may not fulfill the wishes of the luddites but tis the truth.

I currently have him at 8...but I could concievably envision him as high as 5 on my list...so in that regard #3 really isn't that much out of the question...Between 3 and 15 there are really alot of variables (h2h, accomplishment, level of opposition etc.), and much depends on how that translates in different individuals minds (and yes sometimes our hearts can supercede our minds if we are not cautious). Having lewis as #3 seems slightly high to me, but not outrageously so.

That is a good list! Mine is almost the same:
    1. Ali
    2. Holmes
    3. Tyson
    4. Frazier
    5. Liston
    6. Foreman
    7. Louis
    8. Marciano
    9. Holyfield
    10: Lewis

    All the best

Yeah, I'll buy that immediate top-3 list, but "Lewis , Johnson & Foreman" round out the top-6 without a doubt.... Christ, even Holy gets a top-notch slot, as well........ Peace......

There is no way Liston should be in the Top 10. His accomplishments are very weak.

    1)Louis
    2)Marciano
    3)Ali
    4)Lewis
    5)Holmes
    6)Johnson
    7)Dempsey
    8)Foreman
    9)Tyson
    10)Frazier

Well, Sonny Liston was a lousy champion, but he was a great overall heavyweight..... Based on that, I cut the dead dude some slack.......:rasta

    In the top 3? Possible.

But I would actually place him a little lower.

I don't see why rating him over Holmes would be considered so profane. I rate him higher than Holmes, though not in the Top 3.
