Both are winnable fights for De La Hoya and would do well in New York and L.A.:bbb

I don't know that he can beat Mora. Mora is awkward and quicker than Oscar. In fact I think Mora should be favored in a DlH fight. Time for Oscar to retire with no fairwell fight.

Fighting Mora would be idiotic. The guy's a ****ing clown and it would inevitably be a bad fight.

The Duddy Fight wouldn't be a bad farewell, but the Mora fight is a bad idea. Mora is not exciting and probably has the upper hand in ability at this point of Oscar's career. However, I think people would be interested in Oscar retiring, or fighting an up and coming contender opposed to a club fighter.

The duddy fight would be a bad farewell because Duddy would beat him in my opinion! When fighters like Howard Eastman couldn't Hurt Duddy a smaller De la Hoya doesn't stand much of a chance of beating him! With his hand speed and movement also in decline this would be a very risky fight for DLH. Imo Duddy would pressurise dlh into a late stoppage.

    No, he shouldn't.

Chavez Jr. is the only logical fight for Oscar, and it would be an easy victory, and a lot of money, for the Golden Boy.

I don't see the attraction to this. I guess because I was never a big fan juilo sr. either.

It just makes sense from a marketing point of view, there is an angle there, revenge for Sr. etc. And from a competition perspective, Jr. is a credible opponent, but very beatable, even for a badly faded Oscar.

Oscar would make decent money from a fight with Jr. and it would be a decent win on the record to retire with.

I agree with you on this. Chavez Jr. should be the fight. You said it all. Revenge for his father, would be huge amongst Mexican fans I'm sure.

Even at JCC Jr.s current level Arum can put just about every one of his fights on minor PPV's against cans while Jr. is really just learning on the job, and they are obviously selling enough or Arum wouldn't continue with this. So Jr. has a fan base obviously already, probs, just cause of ol' dad, but who cares.

This would be a big one, and at Oscar's current level it may even make for a good little scrap.

    :yep
