Scrutiny over his victories from the last 5 or 6 years..

    - Most recently we all are familiar with his destruction of Cotto. Now Cotto's chin has been rocked before, but he has good recuperative power. Given the way he was retreating in that fight we know that Cotto was uncomfortable with the pressure - AND - the way he was being hurt from Margarito's shots.

    - His obliteration of Cintron twice. I think the standout from both fights is the bodyshot knockout. Cintron's lack of high level competition as a pro makes it hard to gauge how good of a chin he has and how good of a fighter he is at this point.

    - Sebastian Lujan.. The damage to his ear that caused the TKO was brutal not to mention nasty.

    - Decision over Clottey. Now this is interesting to think about.. if Margo had used the plaster in this fight.. and Clottey's style of defense being a high guard with his arms and hands blocking most of the shots... whats not to say that his hand injury that cost him from being able to perform his best after round 4 was caused by the rock's in Margarito's gloves pounding on his arms?

How long do you guys think Margarito may have been getting away with this or employing this tactic? Support your claims with evidence too..

If you look at the Cintron fights and the Cotto fights legitimate question(s) have to be asked here. I hope Margarito is banned from Boxing for life.

Margarito was messing with his opponents well being wrapping his hands like that.

And... Is Cotto a quitter now? Or just someone who's intelligent enough to notice something isn't right?

All I know is he wont be able to get away with it again.
If the future performances show a lack of the same power we can safely assume he has always used the loaded gloves.

Yes, they even took what was in his hand wraps as evidence.

    I posted this elsewhere -

If an athlete tests positive for steroid abuse they can be stripped of medals, records and banned for life. Now, it would be safe to assume this wouldn't have been his first time doing this' The Cotto fight was HUGE in terms of Margaritos career moving forward. Title on the line, undefeated fighter. If he's going to use loaded gloves against Mosley of course he'd do it against Cotto.

In my opinion, life ban and record wiped.

Its harsh I know. But if that was the punishment how many other boxers do you think would even consider trying it?

    Billy Collins anyone?

If someone still loads their gloves after what happened to Collins they need their head seen to.

Nazim Richardson, Shanes trainer noticed something fishy and asked to see what was up, and that's what was discovered. He's experienced at this, he's the same trainer for Bernard that made Tito re-wrap his hands in 2001. Smart man and trainer. I suspect after Shane and Bernard's recent outings, he'll be the most sought after trainer in Boxing.:deal

I know that. Maybe I didn't explain myself properly (English is not my first language). What I meant was, now quitting doesn't look as bad for Cotto.

Why do people say he quit?? I don't get that? Because he took a knee? Bull ****. Plus he got up, and was willing to take his finishing blows but his CORNER threw the towel, not Cotto.
