I think the busting up of Margie's cheating has in a way contributed to this magnificent performance of SSM. I'm sure, it occupied Margie's mind while in the ring.

dude his punches had absolutely nothing on them the entire fight. AND nazim richardson was the one who spotted trinidads illegal handwraps! i really liked margarito but i lost a lot of respect for him last night

 

Another good point. Mosley's shots seemed (and were) fierce, Margarito's punches didn't look remotely as hard, from round one till round nine. Very odd fight, and I'm not dissing Mosley's effort and achievement in any way. For me it's proof yet again that styles make fights.

 

I am vey suspicious of Margo right now. if it is true then how long has this been going? And for Cotto as a fan of his, he should be pissed if its true. to have lost his "0" unfairly due to illegal hand wraps. Makes me respect him even more for sustaining those bombs which literally must have felt like bricks yet he lasted for so long. If this is true the cotto-margarito fight should be a no contest.

 

Oh Yeah for sure. Thats something that is certainly not being talked about enough around here. His ass got busted red handed 30 mins before one of the biggest fights of his career. That has to **** with you real bad. My brother and I were commenting on that when the debacle got anounced by the HBO crew.

To tell you the truth, even if Margo proves to be a cheater (prior to the Mosley fight), still there is no way we can prove he did cheat in the Cotto fight. There is good reason to suspect he did, but no proof. So that loss stands, at least for me. But Cotto will have his chance to prove he can beat Margarito in the rematch, so no sweat there.

 

There is absolutely NO EVIDENCE whatsoever he used illegal handwraps in the Cotto fight - ZIP, NADA, ZILCHO. Heck, there isn't even solid evidence in that he used it in the Mosley fight. But even IF this emerges, that does not warrent discrediting his other wins, unless EVIDENCE emerges.
