Ok... so camp Margarito has stated the following:
Francisco Espinoza (Co-Manager of AM) speaks on Margaritos future. he believes there will still be a fight with Cotto. (Evalista Cotto has also stated he would like to fight Mosley rather than Margarito).

    This content is protected
. He said there was no plaster and everything will be cleared after the investigation is made.

Is this normal for a fighters trainer to do, to start preparing hand wraps 2 weeks before a fight & also, is it coincidence that both wraps got humid with that cloth?

I am a Cotto & Margarito & Boxing fan, and would hate for boxing to get another bad blow from this. I dont want to make any Judgements on Margarito but that's a pretty shady response from his trainer.

even if they prepare it 1 year in advance it would harden and fall apart like plaster.

i always though that hand wraps and everything that they put on the boxers fits are brand new,,not something to prepared and stored or even to sumerged into some liquid.

Ohh! :( Honestly, I am trying hard not to believe this is true........

    Reasons...

    1) Cotto & Cintron might not ever be the same....
    2) Its a blow to the sport

So then it's not normal to prepare your wrapps 2 weeks earlier... I thought I wasnt crazy when I thought it wasnt normal. :patsch

Back when I used to box, my trainer used to just buy them the day before or sometimes even hours before my fights and they were fresh from the package...I've never in my life heard about "preparing" wraps before...that's very odd...but I'm a bit skeptical about this...only because I don't know how many times I've ****in' seen mistranslations from spanish to english that ruins the context of the orginal message.

No its not normal to prepare for weeks in advance.....what went into their preparation?

You don't want to use used ones especailly for a title fight of this mangitude. Because the dried sweat could cause irritation and you
want to minimize all distractions as much as possible.

The only reason they would harden humidity is if they were treated with something like the aformentioned Plaster of Paris. Even if the wraps were dusted with corn starch they would harden with a bit of moisture, be it humidity or sweat, or whatever. I have never heard of using anything but brand new wraps before a fight. The fix was in. No trainer, profesional or othewise (other than Panama Lewis) would put crusty wraps on there fighter. Another black eye that the sport doesn't need. Shameful.

    Cheers

the guy cheated...there is no excuse...U use brand new wraps when u are on a world championsip level...hell u use brand new wraps when u have ur first fight if ur trainer has any clue...U can't afford to be irritated...there is no excuse and the saddest part is COTTO and Cintron may have paid the ultimate price for this...and they may not have ...but to have this haoppen is enough to wonder if cotto got beaten to a bloody pulp by rock solid hands???? what the **** is this ****....it has nothing to do with spanish to english...it has to do with plaster found on the wraps....unreal...nice work margo,,,,to think people call PBF a coward for not fighting him and cotto a quitter for stopping is just disgusting

Mosley is not a saint either. I think if it's true, it's nasty, if he did use some sort of plaster. But mosley is a roider, another cheater. All trying to cheat to win. Lame as hell.
