just noticed that another fight on the khan-barrera undercard is Smith challenging for the WBA international title at SMW.

how do people see him doing in this weight division? its possibly a little weaker on the domestic scene than middleweights so does he have a shot at winning the british?

No chance. The guy looked a bit fleshy at middleweight and I thought a move down to light-middle would be wiser.

He's not big enough for super-middle. Nay chance.

Good. Hopefully he can turn his excess flesh into a bit of muscle though. He's a very talented fighter though, good chin, decent head movement, good body puncher and can bang, decent speed and good skills aswell.

I think he's got a future... but super middle is a strange move. I'll try and find out a bit more.

Yeah he's got a future as a binman

    Super middle. Really?

He should have moved down or if he couldn't do that at least stayed at middleweight. He had the talent to compete domestically if he got his head straight. Now he's going to be a fat super middle in a crap division.

he has, or had, one of the best jabs i have seen:deal

recently, i think he believes his own hype as a puncher and has been trying for the big show too much.

If he could get back to that ramrod jam, i can see him being a tough ****er to beat.

    Super middle though,he aint.

He's going nowhere at MW though. SMW he can atleast look to dominate domestically, bare probably Brian Magee.

I agree that physically he looks a bit portly at middle.

Kind of like a Manfredo almost - he is giving away whatever edge he had to the bigger guys.

But hey, good luck to him.

He has boxed at SMW before though hasnt he? I agree that it would be a strange choice if its for the medium/long term but this could just be a stop gap to keep him active...

    :rofl

Even Smith's tats pale in comparison to the Viking Warrior. Kessler destroys him inside a round. :fire:smoke

Bad move for Smith. I wonder what the thinking is behind it?

Smells like just a way to claim more FW 'championship boxing'. Surely Smigga is no more than a middle. The contract will probably stipulate a weight limit of 160! Inter-alphabetty nonsense.
    Didn't sky outlaw these belts?

domestic titles are held by strong fighters at Middlewieght. a fight with Dodson for British title in an all Liverpool clash would be a massive fight if dodson beats Magee, and the commonwealth champion is not great.

expect smith to pick up the commonwelth title in the summer and head for the Dodson clash late in the year.
