I've been saying this for years. PBF would beat Margo just like he beat Baldo and people laughed. They are both similar. The only difference is atleast Baldo won the linear championship and didn't cheat.
Yep! We were laughed off th forum about a topic like this days ago. I might have to bump it just the ruffle a few feathers.:yep:good
Now Shane is a legend because he beat Margarito? ... Mosley is a good fighter, but Margarito was tailor made for Mosley. That was only his second title at welterweight ...
I won't compare Margarito to Baldomir, but going up against Floyd you wouldn't see a big difference in the two.
Shane is not a legend for kicking Margarito's ass. He is a legend for an exemplary career whereby he took on all comers more or less, win or lose. How anyone thought Margarito could stop Shane is beyond me. There are many ways to win a fight but you don't go in against Shane Mosley and expect to outmuscle him.
Floyd is not Shane that is true. PBF is better than Shane as good as Shane can be. Better skills and all round game.
dude Margo knocks out Baldo in about 6 rounds. wtf? Its not even close. Baldo is a midget compared to Margo and has less power
While there are some similarities in style, Margarito was always the tougher out. Before Saturday, many viewed him as the best welterweight in the world. Opposed to Baldomir who was never perceived as a true threat to any of the top welters, despite having won the "lineal" title. Remember it was Baldomir who Arturo Gatti targeted based on the belief that Baldomir was easy pickins. Gatti was even the betting favorite headed into that fight.
On what basis exactly could Margarito be viewed as the best Welterweight in the world. A 5/6 times loser. Julio Cesar Chavez he most certainly is not and has no real skills worthy of mention. Shane Mosley had to guard against complacency as he knew what he would do to the limited Margarito. Baldomir was the underdog going in against Zab Judah the unified champion and took the crown full stop that made him the champion and the best until PBF took the title of him. As for Gatti you saw what Baldomir did to him. Enough said. Being a betting favourite means nothing otherwise Shane would have lost on Saturday and numerous fights would have different results. Margarito is a fiction of both he and Bob Arum's imagination.
You missed my point. All I was saying was that Margarito and Baldomir are not analogous. If anything I agree with Mayweather's decision to become the undisputed Welterweight Champion.
Certainly not. Baldomir was a limited regional journeyman who got lucky to beat an unprepared Judah and a used-up Gatti. Margarito, on the other hand, is a proven world class fighter with solid victories over prime, prepared opponents. The Mosley-fight hand-wrap controversy has NOTHING to do with those fights.
The guy in your avatar is a ****ing cheat got exposed by Clottey beat as his own game by a green Williams and KTFO by Mosley he's finshed.hi:
