Nallege has a point about this believe it or not. When has Pac ever fought a slick boxer? It's just a cultural thing as I said before.

P4P if Pac fought Calzaghe or Hopkins and they were the same size he would probably lose so he should be #3.

 

I guess I'm done with this thread. Thank you ESB. I know this subject is hard to talk about and it was treated as being tabboo by many of PAc's fans. I pretty much got across hopefully to you guys how hard it is to rank a fighter like PAc higher than all time greats who have fought every type of style in their career. PAc has not done this, and until he does, he is number 4 on my list pfp today.

Name wise, PAc is up there with the best of anyone when talking resumes. The time he fought those guys is near the bottom rung compared to the greats of the past. I hope you guys now know how hard it is to rank fighters. Gene Tunney is said to be a wonderful boxer, and footage that I've seen does show evidence of this, but he drew the color line. Should I rank him with the best ever? Hell no. Greb beat the tar out of him as a middleweight, with Tunney being a light heavyweight, and Greb fought everyone... black and white. Sorry but race...in the end does factor in judging fighters...sorry. There is nothing wrong with this though. Thanks, but it isn't just a slick boxer. You also have to add a tough elite caucasian fighter as well. Hatton fits that description. I think PAc beats Hatton, but it is an intriguing fight the more I think about it. In the end, it's Floyd's left overs(had to mention this lol), but Hatton is still elite and prime.

Somebody explain to this woeful moron that there were quality black fighters available for Tunney to fight, and even though he did not fight them he is still widely recognized as a top 20 ATG.

Pacquiao did not, like Tunney, choose not to fight black fighters, he did fight some but just not that many because he was too busy fighting the best competition available, and at the weights he fought at black fighters were not the best competition available (see last post about Barrera/Morales/Marquez - Kelley/Jones/Gainer).
