If Margarito is guilty of cheating, can Cotto sue him for brain damage incurred in their fight?

Serious question. Gamache sued Gatti for weight draining bull****. Why can't Cotto do the same?

no he cant because he has no evidence. also, if he won, it wuld mean that every opponent margarito faced could sue him which the judge aint gona let happen

    No.

1 Because he never suffered 'brain damage'
2 Because if they find him guilty, he's guilty for the Mosley fight and the Mosley fight only.

You are correct,Freddy.I believe Joey ended up settling out of court with the NY Commission, but Gatti was not involved.
How can Cotto sue Margo? The fight was last year and the commission signed off on Margo's wraps.Whats to prove. The horse has already left the barn and it's too late now to close the barn door.

There's no evidence, and Cotto certainly did not get brain damage, otherwise he would never be cleared to fight after that.

Margarito is facing a serious fine + suspension either way.

There is NO EVIDENCE - none whatsoever - that Margarito had anything in his hand-wraps against Cotto or ANY OTHER FIGHT, with the possible exception of the yet-unproven allegations in the Mosley fight.

Such a suit, if ever brought, would be thrown out so quick it would make your head spin. It is BEYOND frivolous - I would call it libelous, frankly.

No! There would be no evidence to support such a case and to my knowledge Cotto never claimed to have sustained any form of brain damage.

No Margo was cleared of any wrong doing in the Cotto fight.

If evidence or a witness that was willing to testify ever got produced then I would imagine that Cotto would have a serious case.

Cleared because some random guy said he was 'pretty sure' Margo didn't have anything in his gloves that night?

I'm not saying he did, but you CANNOT definatively say he didn't.

Forget about sueing Margo, I'd rather Miguel whip that ass in the ring.

He could but he woudnt win. He shouldnt either. He should just play it cool like nothing happen. If he came out and begins complaining, then it would make Cotto look bad. Like Vargas and Joppy complaining after Trinidad/Hopkins.
