Get over it with the "finally Wlad is stepping up to the plate to fight a real contender" bull****. How many times do I have to run circles around you before you stop coming back two weeks later with the same nonsense?

Explain to me... what "real contenders" has Wlad been avoiding? He has been consistently beating the highest rated fighters, undefeated top contenders, and champions out there who are willing to fight him. Haye JUST came on the scene at Heavyweight, and Wlad is ALREADY willing to go into Haye's backyard and fight him. He also had Povetkin (who would maul Haye) back out on him and their scheduled fight... which forced Wlad to fight the next highest rated available contender in order to fulfill his mandatory... which was Rahman.

    Get over the bull****.

Tompsons best win is over Luan Krasniqi, whose only claim to fame was his decent showing against Lamon Brewster in late 2005, where he was winning the match until he got caught in the 8th and knocked out in the 9th. He was undefeated for 7 years because he fought nobody, similar to Tye Fields, who had a similar win streak until he stepped up his competition and was knocked out by Barrett.

Rahman was severely washed up, the guy was rocked by Zuri Lawrence for christ sakes, the same Zuri Lawrence who has been knocked out by everyone decent in the Heavyweight division, he had an even worse performance against Sykes, the guy that was viciously knocked out by Sam Peter in a couple rounds. Unless you consider quitting against James Toney in 3 rounds deserving of a title match?

As I said before, this will be Wlad's toughest, most dangerous fight in years, not since Sam Peter has he been really tested in the ring. I'm very excited for this match, and pray it lives up to it's hype, the struggling Heavyweight division needs it.

If you really think Wlad is slow for a HW you need to follow a different sport. May I recommend Wrestling? :yep

Wladimir doesn't give the fighters the rankings, blame the ABC belts, not Wlad. He fights the highest ranked fighters available that are willing to fight him.

    1. Byrd for the IBF belt - Wlad won by KO

    2. Austin for the IBF mandatory - Wlad won by KO

    3. Sultan for the WBO and partial unification - Wlad won by UD winng every round

    4. Thompson as the WBO mandatory - Wlad won by KO

    5. Rahman as the highest ranked mandatory when Povetkin was injured - Wlad won by KO

It's just a reflection of how bad the division truly is, only Bryd and Sultan are the only two that are worthy or good enough to fight Wlad, everyone else should of never got that opertunity in the first place.

Haye is a great choice for Wlad, he will give him a tough fight, at least early on.

seriously dude...what is up with these fools? show me another 6'6" BOXER ever who had faster hands and could move as well.

my boy wlad is gonna destroy herbie haye and i got my ESB existence riding on it :yep:yep

remember, these are some of the same dullards who said wlad would retire first rather than face hypejob haye :rofl

watching haye's sloppy and untidy performance against barrett makes me even more confident

Wlad, too tall, too good a lead hand and too big a right hand. And he has Emmanual Steward in corner RADAR...

haye might be like briggs. dangerous early on but fades badly. he lacks strength and will get bullied badly by wlad in the clinch. That's why I expect wlad to employ the headlock and lean down move mastered by lennox.

so do u think haye is a better opponent than valuev, povetkin or chagaev at this point?

Good comparison, though I think Briggs is a little more heavier handed, but Haye's obviously got the quicker hands.

Good question, I always believed Wlad would have a tough time with Valuev's size, but after watching a few of his matches again, I think Wlad would win a decision against him, 8 rounds to 3 probably. Chagaev hasnt been in a tough match since April of 07, when fought Valuev, since then he has had too many health concerns to be a threat, Wlad wins by 9th round TKO. I'm not a big fan of Povetkin, who probably would of lost to Chambers if it wasnt for Eddie gassing out mid-way through the fight. And it seems to me he's scared of Wlad, he keeps backing out of his match with him, not to mention he has next to nothing to even scare Wlad in the ring, aside from his workrate, which I doubt will even be a factor, Wlad by 6th round KO.

I see it is a TKO for Klitchko for this reason in particular: Wlad's jab. Haye (if I remember correctly) talks about how Wlad's jab isn't going to bother him like it's bothered other people, but he hasn't been on the end of it yet. Wlad, especially with right-handers, has this tendency to force opponents to do his will because of his jab.

Also, Wlad has a genuine chip on his shoulder because of all of Haye's antics. I read somewhere that Vitali said they almost argued about who would get to fight him, so Wlad really wants him bad. I suspect he's also interested in handing out a sustained beating much like he handed Rahman. Rather than trying to get rid of Haye in a couple rounds, I think he'd rather jab him to death so he wishes he'd get knocked out, then finally oblige. Just long enough for people to say he's boring of course.
