Well presumably she is training for volume and accuracy in volume. I would be shocked and stunned if this is a drill to which she would turn, in it's exsisting form, in the ring. But Calzaghe has shown that volume punches thrown for accuracy (not THAT common, specifically) can be lethal if it's mixed in with hard punches, which I agree aren't demonstrated here. Nothing snobbish about saying they are weak shots though. They are. Anyone fighting incorporate anything like this?
Nice video, she seems very fluid and relaxed. If i was using this i would think i was gaining more of a mental aspect eg. reaction and instinct. Brain training if you wish. I never did this with pads , just seems like a form of shadowboxing really, going over pattern's. :thumbsup
"THE" Mayweather pad drill? That's interesting, do you mean designed for him, or by him or what do you mean? Do you mean he does this type of excersise as standard? Hard to watch that fight, the man is wearing pink gloves
I find white gloves hard on the eyes, its probably a perception thing. It is most notably used by Roger Mayweather and little Floyd. I've seen a lot of amateurs using it, and Ive seen fighters like Gamboa use it, everyone attributes it the 'Mayweather' pad drill. (start at 2:00) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44xjuFRwpMM and Joe Blow himself replicating it with Roger http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhfYeiCFs7I He uses this as a standard part of his training. Its a speed , endurance, and reflex drill and is useful for defensive purposes (supplement of course). In one of the episodes of Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 Hatton mocks the Mayweather padwork. It was funny to watch, but was ironic after the result of the fight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QevWKNM9JWY&feature=related @ roger at the end
Nice aj Yeah, **** knows what Roger is actually saying there. He could be singing in Dutch. There's quite a bit on those Mayweather punches though.
