If it is proven that he had the plaster substance, though, it DOES prove that Capetillo at a minimum is a liar. He has denied these reports before, and there was a story before stating that he did not want to open the tape on the right hand even after the plaster from the left hand had hit the floor. Their credibility will be gone and it will be difficult for anyone to defend them.

I see, you don't understand. No, AGAIN, I was referring to the rules themselves. The actual rule. Go back to the first page of this thread and you will see what we're talking about. Not every fighter gets suspended automatically. Just the fighters who have suffered the damage required to be suspended. YOU DON'T NEED TO TELL ME MARGARITO IS GETTING SUSPENDED FOR THE HANDWRAPS. I KNOW. THANKS. And, NO, Margarito would have been suspended anyway for getting OBLITERATED by Mosley. THAT'S THE RULE. THAT'S THE ONLY RULE I WAS TALKING ABOUT. IT WAS A CLARIFICATION.. FFS. :gsg

You the Fox, Titomahawk and heart ,are completely in the tank for Margie.

I am getting a bit concerned for you four.....please help me with this...

Do you guys get wet dreams about Margie?????

Are you on his payroll to do some damage control????

Capetillo and Margie were recently suspended and could possibly have some state issued striped pajamas soon.

until the investigation is finished, we can never know for sure, that is correct. but the suspension has basis for it to be implemented, despite its preliminary nature.

and assuming that there was plaster in the mosley fight, it does not necessarily prove anything about previous fights. but it does add a cloud of doubt on the previous wins. we can never know for sure unless wraps from the previous fights are preserved.

but it does make compelling evidence considering cottos busted ear.

Proves NOTHING about the previous fights but his name will forever be tainted and that PREVIOUS win will always be a question mark in a lot of boxing fans' minds.

And that, imo, is monumentally unfair - even IF it is eventually PROVEN that Margarito had some plaster-like substance in THIS fight, because there is NO evidence, none whatsoever, that there were substances in previous fights.

And, for the record, I am not particularly a Margarito fan - I am just a person who believes that athletes are entitled to be considered innocent until clear, irrefutable proof is provided that they did something wrong.

That is a perfect example of what I am talking about. The so-called "spygate" scandal should have NO bearing on any other game than the game in which they were proven to have done that. Similarly, until positive tests are produced that show that particular fighters or baseball players used steroids before particular wins or achievements - those achievements should not be called into question either!

in the real world, it does not really happen even in the absence of compelling proof. there is a reason why mcguire has not been inducted into the HOF despite his achievements bro, because of the lingering accusations of doping/cheating.

this will be a similar case. if it will be proven that there is foreign substance during the fight, it will put a cloud over his previous wins.

And in both McGwire's case and this one, that is a monumental injustice.

We'll find out after the hearing. The commission is a governmental agency, so they need to afford him due process before doling anything out.
