I won't give up though, I'll keep trying. Maybe one day I'll possess the knowledge and insight that it takes to believe that a man who gets up from a hard KD would then choose not to return the KD favour for no apparent reason, when he easily could have. May-bee bay-bee...

Joe knew the score and he knew how to look after that zero. He knew what would happen if he stepped in that ring with a prime Jones.

There is absolutely no reason he you would come out with this stuff unless he believed it himself, as it is not self serving in any way.

Joe clearly has the same opinion as 99% of people who have seen all of his fights and all of Roy Jones's fights. He evidently is not as love in with himself as many on this forum are who actually believe any version of Joe C gets close to beating peak Superman, one of the greatest talents the sport has ever seen.

    I like these quotes!!

Calzaghe 2000: "I have no fear whatsoever of Jones... I would jump on the next plane to the States and defend my title against him in his own backyard if the opportunity arose," he said.
Calzaghe's comments came after Jones hinted he may step down a weight for his next fight, following a disappointing display against Eric Harding.
I am the best super-middleweight in the world and I am out to prove that I am the best fighter on the planet
    Joe Calzaghe

"I am the best super-middleweight in the world and I am out to prove that I am the best fighter on the planet. If Jones disagrees, lets get it on," he said.
"Jones is supposed to be the best fighter in the world at the moment. A showdown between us has got to happen to prove who is the best

Did Roy not want to move down or Joe not want to move up?

By the way Dinamita that Pac-Man 'CD' cover is well cheesey.

@ Guy, please stop being ridiculous. In 2000 Roy Jones was the pound for pound best fighter in the world and also an undisputed champion. Are you seriously trying to suggest he should have moved down in weight to face an obscure fighter for a minor belt?

Your intestinal fortitiude is admirable young warrior. Although if you read articles like this from one of British boxing's most esteemed writer's in Jeff Powell, you might learn a bit more quickly.

I've watched the fight many times and I've never thought that Calzaghe deliberately carried Jones.

Thats how i saw it Joe just put on a show, he knew he'd won and played the clockout almost distracting from the fact Roy was offering no meaningful resistance near the end

I am not interested in the opinion of any British writer, I watched that fight like I have scrutinized all of Joe Calzaghe's fights, and I know that the man simply did not have the punching power to put Jones away in the same fashion as Tarver or Johnson did.
