I re-watched the fight on TiVo while running on the treadmill

Anyway, from what I noticed... Cotto didn't lose because of a refusal to clinch or because he "couldn't" get to his body.

Cotto lost because he believed his own hype and power. Cotto acting all flashy after he landed big shot after big shot. Cotto is a good body puncher but you can tell he thought to himself. "This guy has worse defense than me, I'll be able to hit him all night with my power and he'll break."

Cotto had so many opportunities to go to Margos body he just refused too.

As long as Cotto learned from his mistake Cotto SHOULD win the rematch.

Oh and I also watched Taylor-Pavlik 1 again, I love the last moments...

"And that right hand hurt Taylor...":good

Great, great fight to watch; that one is permanently on the DVR. Especially great to watch for a biased NE Ohio fan like me!

It's on two DVRs in my house. Just in case someone messes up the other.

I'd say that was definately part of it. ^ Combine this with how shook Cotto cleary was by getting advanced on constantly, and it's a working fomula. It's all connected, and it was all there, written all over his past fights. All of it. When he was flashing on Alfonso Gomez, when he was backpeddling trying to get away from N'dou.. Yep.

Im assuming Margo didn't cheat because he was cleared already but Cotto clearly could of went after his body so many times.

It played out for Margo who was able to get through Cottos defense with the wide shots while Cotto head hunted.

Nothing is impossible, but it's hard to imagine that Margarito was whipping Cotto's ass with 'concrete gloves.' The evidence of the 11 brutal rounds itself, and Cotto's apearance afterward, as well as Margarito's appearance afterward, leads me to believe nobody had any loaded wraps, or they both did. :huh

I remember some of us talking about Cotto's face when he got to the airport in Puerto Rico, and how he didn't even look that ****ed up. That's one of the problems with us not knowing if Margarito was protecting his hands or trying to kill people.

I have being saying that since the day he lost. He fell in love with himself after the Gomez demolition. That, and the nasal bleeding, cos him the fight. Hopefully he learned the lesson

Pretty reasonable post, Cotto definitely had many chances to dig to the body, but he didn't. And Cotto has always took the chance to do that when he had it before.

Lol, Lampley was funny in the Pavlik-Taylor fight. Love that fight..one of my favorites.

Very good post. I also do think that Cotto thought he could knock Marg out by going to the head. Big mistake.

Cotto loss because Tony kept coming forward and walking through his punches like they were nothing.
