Fedor is definitely on the down hill, he seems more sluggish now. Hopefully he retires on top but if he keeps going he will be beaten by a younger hungrier fighter that caught him off guard.

Considering the fact that Affliction rely almost entirely on Fedor as their main attraction, it will be very difficult for him to hang it up, unless he starts losing.

In AA fight, looks a bit sluggish to me. Although I agree in Sylvia fight, he took him to school in striking. Sometimes fighters can look sluggish the very next fight, it happens. It is just a sign that things are slowing down... it doesn't mean he is going to lose past prime, he is Fedor afterall. But I hate to see great fighters losing to father time.

I am aware of that, I still look as him slowing down. His recent lost in sambo was another clue.

I think Fedor didn't train as much as he usually does recently and this could explain the loss in sambo and his "slowing down". He only had about 1 month of training and preparation going into the Arlovski fight. I'm sure he will be better prepared for the Barnett fight.

he looked sluggish in his fight vs sylvia and even in his fights vs crocop , goodridge...fedor never was a striker...he's a sambo/judo trained fighter who only uses his loopy punches as an element of surprise...he just wants to get closer for the clinch + takedown...

the only negative thing i saw in his latest fight (let's say...the big difference compared to how he used to fight a few years ago)...well , he wasn't defending the low kicks , then again...he wasn't defending them in his fight against Hunt.

In his fight vs crocop , his reflexes were downright scary..(even though he ended up having his face smashed )...

Fedor gets away with a lot of technical (boxing/striking) flaws...and the only reason it's working is because he's fast enough to avoid what's being thrown at him... Arlovski was throwing some fast , crisp punches...but fedor kept avoiding them. if you rewatch the fight it sometimes looks as if arlovski is hitting him but he's missing fedor's face by only a few centimeters...

that's why he wasn't in any serious danger against arlovski. There's a few things he could've done to distabilise arlovski (such as changing his position , turing around him like he did to crocop...instead of just facing him)...but apart from that...nothing particularly alarming.

his fight vs Barnett is gonna be very different though. i'm predicting a real ground war... Barnett already defeated Aleksander emelianenko...can he do the same against fedor ? Who knows...

There's one reasuring news though..fedor's trainer recently said that they're taking josh barnett very seriously and that they'll have an intense & serious training for this fight.

before his fight vs arlovski...fedor was busy doing other things (acting in some action film & his training was neglected)...

If fedor beats barnett...i'd like to see him go back to japan (at DREAM or K1) and fight Kharitonov. That would be a great opponent for him imo. Overeem seems to be at the top of his game at the moment (but again , he's very inconsistent so it doesn't mean much )....And since Kharitonov defeated Overeem in their rematch , that makes him an ideal choice..

(that is...if overeem isn't available and under contract with the ufc)...But if overeem is still fighting in japan...then they should make that one happen fight after his fight vs barnett...

I'd rather see him fight Mir or Lesner and beat them soundly.

Mir will put up a better fight cuz he has good submission but i still see fedor winning this fight.

Lesnar will get destroyed by fedor. He is nowhere near fedor's level. He beat Heath Herring and a 50 yrs old couture. Fedor by 1st degree murder :lol::lol:

Dosto, you should actually watch some of Fedor's fights. I bet you watched the Arvlovski fight and jumped on the bandwagon.

Go watch some of his fights in Rings and in Pride before you act like you know what you are taking about. Werdum? Overeem? Why would he fight these guys in the first place they have been B level fighters for a long time. Sylvia and Arvlovski would crush these guys. Use your head.
