Let me first just say WOW what a fight. Second, I hope we see a lot more of margarito on hbo. The guy is such warrior. I know the cheating scandal is all in the news but once that settles i'd like to see him again. The reason he got ktfo is because he doesn't know how to go into defensive mode. When mosley landed a bomb, margarito would just keep on tryin to throw. Watch the end of the fight when mosley threw out the curtain, margo was still trying to punch until he hit the canvas. All this being said I havn't been truly fond of margarito until now. I'm glad mosley won, but after seeing his ass get handed to him, you sort of gain more respect for a person.
Also, **** all this "strategic clinching won the fight" bs. Cotto fought the wrong fight the first time because he was not boxing conservatively. He gassed out because he was throwing huge combinations, and using his legs way too much without managing his punches. Also, mosley was leaning on margo, not just clinching. Mosley was using his speed on the inside and forcing margo to use his rather small legs.
Mosleys speed, power, and a steady coordinated flow of Jabs and straight rights KO'd Margarito. I know he ultimately destroyed him with hooks, but Margarito ate those straight rights and jabs all night.
Mosley is fast and has good boxing skills as you will have seen in the fight. That gave him the style advantage over Margarito. Although Mosley rarely uses the full breadth of his skills, as it happens he did this time. What could Margarito done differently to get the win? Probably nothing. If they had a rematch, the outcome would be the same if Mosley can perform that well a second time.
What Cotto lacked that Mosely had was sheer strenghth. Stenghth, not power, theres a big difference. When body to body, Margarito let his hands loose and dug to Cotto's midsection...... ......against Mosely, Mosely was strong enough to stand his ground and even push Margarito back while clinching Margarito's arms and tieing them up in knots. It takes strenghth to tie up another fighter. Mosely is physically stronger than Cotto, and strenghth is what Mosely used to stop Margarito who likes to build up a head of steam and just keeps coming and coming..... Mosely never let Margarito build up that head of steam!

He got KTFO because this is the first time he runs into real world class punches, even though beyond shot, but still more than enough to knock him the hell out.
margo has to build his ass back up big time. this handwrap thing has put a fat ass dent in his boxing career
