Firstly this is NOT a slate Ricky Hatton post at all, I like him and really hope he wins come May 2nd but is everyone on here like me getting fed up with this p4p nonsense?

Do you think Ricky genuinely believes he will be p4p#1 if he wins or is he just saying all this to sell tickets? (not that it needs any more hype because it's a certain sell out)

If you're fed up of it why make the third thread today on this forum about it ?
Check out Betty's attempt at turning an entire interview on it's head to suit his own ****ed up fascination.

Neither exactly. I'm sure he knows the p4p title is not lineal, but by the same token he probably believes that if he beats the p4p #1 convincingly, having beaten two previous p4p fighters and with his only conqueror retired, he has a good claim. Does he? I think it would make him top 5 but not #1, as I base my p4p ratings on achievements against a variety of styles over a long period of time rather than one off wins. Even so, I don't think it's a hanging offence to get a bit over-excited about what is by any standards a massive fight!

  4. If he beats Pac & PBF, he's not far off P4P #1. Maybe 1 or 2 fights away tops.

Yes, he's getting carried away, but so what, so would anyone.

That is just a hate thread and I'm not replying on that because of it.

As I said this isn't a hate thread I'm just after opinions. If you aren't interested then don't reply. SImple.

  6. Whether he thinks it or not is irrelevant really as if he beats Pacquiao very few people will actually give him top spot.

But should he beat Pacquiao then he will have beaten P4P the world's best fighter which is no mean achievement in itself.

It ought not make a great deal of difference to either's p4p rating.

Pac isn't #1 because he saw off Diaz and the mortal remains of DLH.

It seems to me he genuinely believes it with how he's going on about it. Not quite sure why he's bringing it up so much now though, he never really spoke about it in the build-up to his fight with Floyd did he?

As far as i can see he's said it once or twice at the most. People are making out he's constantly banging on about it.
Hardly up there with " i wanted to push his nose bone up through his brain " is it ?

    I like Hatton.

The worst thing though is how it is being flooded into the media that "Hatton challenging to become P4P number 1" and that everybody, even those who don't watch boxing, will believe this if Hatton wins.

Yeah i can understand that, but i'll be too happy celebrating a famous victory to be arsed about trivialities, which is pretty much whta it is. It doesn't really matetr that much does it?
