I expected that anyway, he seemed to be looking for someone to tell him he shouldn't fight with that cut. I don't really blame him.

So, I guess the cat's out of the bag...restructured bracket probably looks like this.

    Troy Ross..................................\ T. Ross
    .................................................................\
    Felix Cora................................../

    .............................................................................\

    Akinyemi AK Laleye...................\
    ................................................................./
    Alfredo Escalera Jr.................... /

    .......................................................................................Series winner

    Deon Elam................................\
    .................................................................\
    Ehinomen "Hino" Ehikhamenor..../

    ............................................................................./

    Rico Hoye.................................\ R. Hoye
    ................................................................./
    Ryan Coyne............................../

So the semi-finals will be Hoye (advancing via forfeiture) vs. Elam/Hino winner, and Ross vs. the Laleye/Escalera winner. Doesn't change much, as I think most pegged Hoye to get past Coyne anyway.

Unless they bring someone back to fill in for Coyne like they did in the first season.

That would be great if Ding got a second chance! In the first season... didn't the fighters vote on who to bring back?

Chicken Alfredo did his own version of the chicken dance - the "head cut off flop"! KTFO by diminutive underdog AK Laleye. Who, incidentally, I fully expect to be KTFO himself in the semi-finals. Not that he's bad, but he's not elite, and with size and class disadvantages (and the fact that Escalera was apparently able to tag and stun him a little bit), he stands little chance in my view against the onslaught of Troy Ross.

The next three weeks should be great action, the best of the series so far I'd wager and maybe better than any we've seen in the Contender franchise barring maybe Bika-Codrington. We've got a doubleheader of the last two quarterfinal matches on 2/11, with Hino vs. Elam and Hoye vs. the returning Godfrey. Then the semifinals will be double up on 2/18, and the finals live on 2/25! :bbb

Had to leave because of a cut over his eye that had possibly been infected.
