Following on from TFFP's threads invloving discussion about international boxing, I thought it would be good to hear what the general concencous is about the p4p listings. Here's mine (could vary everytime I post one): 1. Manny Pacquiao 2. Joe Calzaghe 3. Juan Manuel Marquez 4. Israel Vazquez 5. Bernard Hopkins 6. Shane Mosley 7. Celestino Caballero 8. Rafael Marquez 9. Ricky Hatton 10. Paul Williams The first half is quite easy to pick the fighters, the other half not quite as much!
1. Pacquiao 2. J. Marquez 3. Calzaghe 4. Vasquez 5. Hopkins 6. R. Marquez 7. Mosley 8. Williams 9. Hatton 10. Calderon
1. Pacquiao 2. JM Marquez 3. Calzaghe 4. Hopkins 5. Vazquez 6. Mosely 7. Calderon 8. Rafa Marquez 9. Hatton 10. Wlad
I Know it's only supposed to be ten but.... 1. Manny Pacquiao 2. Joe Calzaghe 3. Juan Manuel Marquez 4. Bernard Hopkins 5. Israel Vasquez 6. Shane Mosley 7. Miguel Cotto 8. Ivan Calderon 9. Paul Williams 10. Wladimir Klitschko 11. Ricky Hatton 12. Chad Dawson 13. Vic Darcinyan 14. Antonio Margarito (Provisionally) 15. Rafael Marquez 16. Tomasz Adamek 17. Chris John 18. Mikkel Kessler 19. Kelly Pavlik 20. Nate Campbell on the Brink. Nonito Donaire, Christian Mijares, Arthur Abraham, Fernando Montiel, Celsetine Cabellero.
The general standard of the sport is dire right now.. seriously. Doing a top ten is almost depressing.
Hatton aint a top ten pound for pound fighter anymore He beat Paul mallingangi in his last fight not King Kong
I don't care for these lists. They are far too reactionary. If one guy wins he makes it on the list. If another loses he disapears off the face of the earth. How can the 6th best fighter on earth disapear completely after a loss? I could make a list on who I think the top 10 best fighters are, I do not give a **** about Rings until they come up with some real criteria instead of this horse **** swapping game. :fire
**** i knew i forgot someone, You're right. Keep thinking of Haye as a Heavy and forgot about his reign at Cruiser.
Paulie was, at the time, regarded as number 2 in the division, and Hatton was within the top 10 before losing to the p4p number 1 - so why can't he be back in it?
Edit. 1. Manny Pacquiao 2. Joe Calzaghe 3. Juan Manuel Marquez 4. Bernard Hopkins 5. Israel Vasquez 6. Shane Mosley 7. Miguel Cotto 8. Ivan Calderon 9. Paul Williams 10. Wladimir Klitschko 11. Ricky Hatton 12. Chad Dawson 13. Vic Darcinyan 14. Antonio Margarito (Provisionally) 15. David Haye 16. Rafael Marquez 17. Tomasz Adamek 18. Chris John 19. Mikkel Kessler 20. Kelly Pavlik on the Brink. Nate Campbell, Nonito Donaire, Christian Mijares, Arthur Abraham, Fernando Montiel, Celsetine Cabellero.
Since Haye is a Heavyweight now, you're effectively saying that he is easily the 2nd best heavyweight in the world.
