    This is painfull.

There is nothing wrong with wanting Hatton to beat Pac. Nothing.

What the TS was asking about was Nationalism. And I stated that in Boxing I dont think it exists as a rule. You get many Brits ripping Calzaghe a new one far more than you do Yanks for example.

If I confused you with bringing up Football, sorry. I was using that as an example of a very nationalistic game in the UK. You wouldnt get me supporting N.Ireland over Scotland even if Davis was my Favourite player. Wouldnt happen. I am Scottish

I used it as an example of how, to me at least, Boxing was different.

And no i didnt ****in say if you support a British fighter against anyone else it makes you a Casual or a novice or whatever. If Calzaghe fought Cloud(Who I mentioned before) I would be supporting Calzaghe. No doubt. He is one of my favourite fighters.

Again, All i said is that (IN MY OPINION) Boxing is a far less nationalistic sport than others. And it doesnt matter to me if the guy I like watching is from Wales, Denmark, England,Scotland or the States. It is purely an individual sport for me, and I assumed others.

    Maybe you prove me wrong.

well you explain to me "******" why being nationalistic is ok in football but in boxing it makes you a "casual" or "non-boxing fan"?
    no comeback! what a surprise!!!!

whats the difference between being nationalistic in boxing as opposed to football?

you didnt say anything about who you "though" would win![/quote]

Am I getting paid for this tuition?.

    Big ****in difference daft ****.

If there is a Scotland Vs England football match, god himself couldnt get me to cheer for England. I AM SCOTTISH.

If Scott Harrison fought Prince Naseem, god himself couldnt get me to support Scott.

Are we any closer to a ****in conclusion. One of those represents my entire COUNTRY, and the other represents my personal favourite between the two INDIVIDUALS.

FOR ME NATIONALISM DOES NOT COME INTO BOXING.

If folk disagree then fair enough, I am not here to change minds. I must have narrowly minded thought Boxing was one of the sports that wasnt tainted by this.

Well for one, I never said it was "OK". But **** Football.

    2. I never said Supporting a Brit against an overseas oppo makes you a casual, I said Casual fans more often support the Brit in fights against overseas oppo. Be it because of Underdofg feeling or just coz it's the name they know.

In case you missed it I am a Calzaghe fan, and his last **** knows how many fights have been against overseas fighters.

"No Comeback.what a surprise". Please Bro, give me time to decipher your drunk ramblings. Im not Johnny 5.

Yes, Without question. He was my favourite fighter out of the 2. The fact that brought up such question marks from you answers all my questions before, and i feel you are the exact person Flint was looking for. Although funnily enough the wrong Nationality as far as Trotter and the rest were concerened. Typical.

    I was supporting Arthur.

But if you can get your head around it, I was all for Gomez in his fight with Arthur, I liked Gomez(Had seen more of him) but Arthur in that fight and the way he came back from it got me onside. I had no such feelings for Cook at that time. But, I did like how he fought Arthur, so I'll be watching against Martinez and be cheering for him.

you say its perfectly ok to be nationalistic regarding a football match!!

please excuse my terrible ignorance but i dont understand the difference in princible!????
boxing & football are both sports!!! equal in princible!! so please can somebody explain to my "drunken"&"ignorant" ASS what is the difference??? because "badjuju83" is all over it for some reason?

I see Joe as BRITISH and am extremely proud of him. I've supported him for years, and he's brought me many a memorable night. The Lacy night was one of the best nights i've ever had watching boxing, and the Kessler fight was one of the scariest, but ultimately gave me a renewed and massive respect for Joe.

I consider Calzaghe to be Italian....both of his parents are aren't they?
Enzo 'Maccarnielli is 2 times faster than Haye' Calzaghe is definitely Italian anyway.
