I would love to do this show in front of a live audience with a section for the audience to get involved. I'm also thinking of taking it on the road to a city before a big fight - a live studio gig. We did that with the BBC Five Live boxing show before Joe and Lacy. It nearly worked - this would work. Adios.
Nice ideas Buncey. If Wlad-Haye goes ahead in London you should do it then. You should also try and convince the big-wigs at Setanta to give you more air time. Preferably an extra hour or at least another 30 mins :good.
i think if they tried to fit less in and had a better gameplan the show would flow better. How random was the Tommy Morrison stuff? Kell Brook shouldve got more than the 15 seconds he got at the end for sure.
I think the show is excellent. Everyone who's everyone in British boxing seems to be on one week or another. Getting Eubank on was inspired. More old school guests in the future would be nice and, as said above, a longer show - one hour just never seems enough.
Thats a great idea Buncey and the format of the show is great I can't understand why people would moan, the miserable *******s. Plain and simple Its the only regular boxing show that keeps us up to date on whats going on and also gives the lesser known sand young fighters the opportunity to get some exposure to the paying public. Best magazine program on the tv, dodgey camera angles and all. What would you rather watch big fight round 2 :rofl
The boxing hour is fantastic, although we could do with an extra 30 minutes at least - maybe 10 minutes of that answering emails?
Criticism isn't moaning, just because its the only show in town doesn't mean its above reproach now and again when things don't work.
The more people that moan the better - critics and their thoughts welcome. Everything is taken in. Trust me. There are ways to improve the quality without losing the chaos. I'm working on several fronts. It's still only six months old and the first two months didn't count because of the odd times. So far this year I've had... Franks Warren and Maloney, Mick Hennessy, Dennis Hobson, Adam Booth, Robert Smith, Jimmy McDonnell, Lee McAllister, Richie Woodhall, Mickey Cantwell, Tony Dodson, Michael Jennings, Gareth Williams, Mike Marley, Jon Thaxton, Chris Eubank, Tommy Morrison, George Groves, Michael Maguire, David Price, Kell Brook, Wayne McCullough and Bernard Dunne. Last year some people complained because James DeGale, David Haye and Joe Calzaghe were on too often! I might ask viewers for their dream top three line-up. Thanks for EVERY word. Adios.
Preferably with Audley tied to a chair, with Fury armed with a baseball bat and David with some Antonio Margarito souvenir handwraps :good
The show's a perfect format for a live audience they'd be a lot of interest and it would create a good atomsphere. As you say you could have a Q+A section choosing the best questions before hand. Nice for the solitary boxing fans among us:good
****in hell fellas. Just got round to watching this, not sure what all the fuss is about on here! Cracking show. Some dodgy camera work but all in all the content was brilliant. Was great to hear from the Duke as well! Following on from some of Buncey's comments... Live show would be great with an audience but make sure you vet the questions before hand. I'm not particularly interested in people asking obvious and inane questions to boxers. You fellas on the panel are obviously fight fans so it makes for a good interview. Having said that, get it down to Liverpool prior to the Rhodes v Small fight! You could get Earnie Shavers, John Conteh and any of the current Scouse pro's on the panel. Top three line up... well as a fantasy line up it would have to be; Duran Leonard Hagler Not sure how far your budget stretches though so I'll go for; Nate Campbell (always great a quote or two) James Toney (as above) B-Hop Or for solely British appeal; Benn Hatton Lennox Lewis
Lets have less golf on Setanta and more Buncy! I'd like to hear John Breen (the trainer), Jim Watt (let him talk about Reg Gutteridge) and Ashley Theophane
