If y'all like to blithely toss about unsubstantiated claims that, if true, would undermine an individual's life work... well, enjoy.

 

Taylor had that high cheekbone fragile Wilfredo gomez type bonestructure.He just marked up real badly aroudn the eyes, plus was unlucky to get a cut in his mouth.

 

Just because some guys punches sound similar doesnt mean they all cheated with illegal hand wraps.

Thats yet again an insult to the ATG skills of Chavez.

I request that you flesh that out. What is "uniquely American" -and abhorrence of body punching?

I think Chavez in his prime got all his weight into every punch. When he got over the hill he would get frustrated and use dirty tactics.

 

I've always found it interesting to at least entertain both sides of everything, considering the truth of most things that come under fire is somewhere in-between the two extremes.

 

I think Chavez was way more heavy handed than Margarito. He just seemed to have a snap at the end of his punches that did a lot of damage. Different league of fighter than Margarito. So no, I don't think his hands were "loaded". Yes, he did get pretty dirty at the end of his career. I think that falls into, like all sports, a guy will do what he's allowed to get away with. What Luis Resto did, and what Margarito allegedly did is a whole other proposition. I think that is a criminal act and should be punished as such. Hopefully for the sake of the sport, Margarito is cleared.

 

p.s. I don't put much stock in the Trinidad wraps at all. The guy could flat out punch. When he fought fighters equipped to expose his physical flaws he lost. Cut and dried to me.

 

It's really half-assed to insinuate something so damning and then couch it as non-accusatorial. You can't have it both ways. If there were even an inkling of evidence- moreso than "wow, taylor's face was really ****ed-up"- then it would be a line worth pursuing. However, to my knowledge, Chavez has never been accused of any illegal wrapping procedure. Ergo, no substantive evidence to even begin this line of questioning. Quite simple, really.

Lastly, I apologize if exercising a vocabulary over 30 words is offensive to any involved. I damn sure wish I wrote for the tele. That's some good coin.

 

The sound of JCC's punches in the Taylor(1st) fight when they landed were crazy, i thought taylor had a broken jaw.

 

As if someone being involved with Don King, being King's biggest money maker after Tyson, and said fighter being involved in one of the worst draw decisions in decades isn't enough to give you that 5% doubt to question something.
