So, uhh, is Kessler ever going to fight a viable opponent again?

My criticism is based on fact not opinion.....I give him credit for his MW career but why is he not fighting or even pursuing the best at 168? There seems no point to him moving up in weight. Reluctancy to fight the best at 168 is always angled at Kessler.......why not Taylor?

You're lucky the Villa couldn't put Wigan away or else 4th would have been way off!

He just got to the weight.

Edit: As for there being "no point to him moving up in weight"... he can't make Middleweight in healthy fashion anymore. That is a good reason, as I see it.

It's about time he fought the best at home, because Taylor seems to be looking for the easiest options.

At least Kessler's excuse is he can't get out of his shitty contract.

what do you make of statements like this?

    -------------------

If they want us, we will be happy to go to Wales," DiBella said. "Joe's the man. If we had the opportunity to fight the man, Jermain has never walked away from a challenge and there is no bigger challenge than Joe. There's not a lot of choices for Joe if he continues campaigning. If he's not going to retire, there are not a lot of choices for him. Jermain is athletic enough to give Joe a good go, and Joe is a great champion who is not going to fight stooges."

Taylor echoed DiBella's thoughts after his victory.

"It's about business. This was my comeback fight and I love that but I don't know about going to Wales. Maybe Calzaghe should come back here."

That's no excuse or a vaild reason to fight Allan Green in his home country when the belts and money lie elsewhere.....he's been fighting at the top level for long enough to literally step into title fights at 168, and he's good enough..........so why doesn't he?

European inbreeding judging by the posts I've read in this thread so far. They are all pissed that Taylor doesn't think their champs are worth fighting. Dibella is right at the moment. Taylor just came to the 168 scene. A Kessler/Taylor fight would not bring the money both guys deserve at this point. So, do they fight for less than the deserve or does one guy take the short stack. It is still a business guys.

Oh really? Taylor has had one fight at 168. A few months ago Kessler fans were saying Kelly Pavlik had not EARNED the right to face Joe Calzaghe even though Joe had spent a year calling him out. Now JT HAS to fight Kessler? Maybe you guys need to get together and get your "facts" straight. :patsch

i agree with dibella on one hand because he wants taylor to have be a big 168 fighter (money wise) and he needs to get a good fight under his belt before taking on the top-dogg kessler which has the ability to become a very big money making fight

but on the other hand taylor is taking the **** he needs to get on with it
