Aaron Pryor vs Edwin Rosario

I think Pryor would stop my 135 fave. His great chin would negate Rosario's biggest strength even given his loose defense. Even given Rosario was a bit faster and more dynamic than Arguello and more than matched his power Alexis' skill and delivery was second to very few. Pryor's awkward style would trouble Rosario's stiffness greatly. Pryor TKO 3-6.

 

I don't know ... Rosario hit like a ton of bricks and wasw much faster than the Arguello that fought Pryor ... Edwin would have been an extremely dangerous match up for Pryor in a fight that could go either way .

 

............If you stayed at range and allowed Rosario to unload, he was murder. If you created angles or crowded him, he was much less effective, and I think Pryor would be well served to get right up in Edwin's chest and stay there, just flooding him with punches.

I like Pryor early here. Rosario was the very picture of a measured fighter, and would have no idea what to do against a whirlind attack like that.

 

I don't see this fight going very long either way.

Anybody can get caught cold (Pryor)....or anybody can get just overwhelmed (Rosario).

Odds are Pryor would come out winging.

Agreed. I don't think Pryor blows him out as others do, not at 135 anyway. Early Rosario (prior to falling in love with his power) was a bit like a larger version of Wilfredo Gomez.

 

Pryor is not near enough proven at lightweight for him to be considered at this weight he was a natural LWW and fought most his career up there.

I see this as a dangerous matchup for Pryor. I think we could see multiple knockdowns of Pryor here. Keeping Pryor down is the problem. I'll say Pryor rallies for a late stoppage here in a crazy fight. Pryor was 138 for his fight against Cervantes.

 

He was similar to a guy like Napoles there, in that he only moved up because he wasn't getting the right breaks. He was likely (and by most accounts) just as good at LW as he was at LWW, and I doubt you could convince me that a 5 pound difference in weight makes a significant difference in a fighter's abilities. He may have been a tad lacking in experience, that's it. The main issue here would be Rosario IMO, who gets quite underrated, especially considering how well-rounded and dangerous he was in his early days. Watch his fight with Edwin Viruet for a great example.

How would he get paid good predicting matches? The fights aint going to happen to see if he's correct or not.
