If Paulie didn't hold as much as he did that night, he would have been out of there very quickly, instead of being on the end of a one-sided beating for 11 rounds.

if you compare cortez's performances between the hatton v mayweather fight and the hopkins v calzaghe fight, you see a referee who was nothing short of an utter ****in disgrace.

the only thing cortez's performance had in common in those two fights was that his refereeing gave the american as big an advantage as he possibly could.

summed up - he is a cheating **** who changed his refereeing philosphies 100% in the space of a few months.

Said this BEFORE Hatton/Mayweather fight and I will say it again. Ricky Hatton has nothing to do in a ring with any of the top 5 welterweights. This fight was just a circus act. Mayweather saw the Hatton/Colazo fight and knew it was going to be an easy fight for him. The guy has nothing to do at 147lbs.

Cortez was/is a joke! All that holding in the first 4-5 rounds was inexcusable. The outcome might not have changed but one has to wonder why Mayweather felt he had to hold Hatton so much.

The ref from the Hatton-Lazcano fight should just do all Hatton fights so his fans cant complain.

    Cortez does suck though.

    HAHA, pretty much.

A bit rich really, yeah. Parris was indeed far worse in the Fatton - Zoo fight.

stop the whining. i'm glad someone finally called hatton's bull**** tactics and made him box the opponent instead of wrestle him to show the world how bad of a hype job he is who can only win when he gets a pat on the back for every illegal move he makes from his buddy referees from England.

Not saying the ref would have changed the outcome BUT HOW BAD WAS PARRIS!?

His refering was disgraceful considering how much he let Hopkins get away with against Calzaghe and how little he let Tszyu get away with against Hatton,

IMO Tszyu is still a league above Hatton BUT Parris was AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE THAT FIGHT.
