Don King has told Warren that Barrera should be fit to take part on March 14 but Warren said the bout could be moved back a fortnight if the Mexican cannot recover in time.

“I spoke to Don King and he told me that hopefully it will be okay,” Warren told The Times. “At the moment, we just don't know. I am told it was a vertical gash, but we will find out more on Monday.

“I did not want this fight in Mexico to happen, but I think there was pressure on him to go ahead with it. If the worst comes to the worst, we will have to push it back a couple of weeks, but we don't want to do that.”

Was a stupid fight for Barrera to take. I mean 6 weeks out from a big fight?? Should be sparring in the gym not having a warm up fight.

Stupidity beyond belief. His handlers should be gassed.

I doubt Barrera would call a fight with a glass jawed, unproven young un a 'big fight'

He has been in with all the best of the best, this is nothing more than a little earner to him lol

everyone seems to think khan can beat him with his chin. barrera will be getting paid a fortune though no doubt. he'll have watched khans fights and worked out he is weak and chinless and i think he'll walk straight through him.

In terms of proving to himself and the boxing world that he can still cut it, it's a big fight. In terms of pay it's big with what the UK ppv's will add to the pot.

If you really thought I was meaning that Khan is a big fighter.... :rofl:nut:patsch
Thats really all I have to say to you.

Its still nowhere near the kind of $$$$ he used to earn. Barrera was one of the most watched fighters in Vegas and the USA PPV channels were more than 15 quid.

Barrera will be taking the fight because Warren will have made it worth his while but he could have just as easily made much more against a far tougher opponent.

If he is in shape he should dispose of Khan easily. I thought he looked a bit flabby in the video clip so I hope he trains better for this one.

All those who think a cut can be produced on demand, raise your hands. I don't think that's possible.

Barrera got caught in a fight too close to his next one, simple as. From what that fight shows I think he'll be too slow against Khan. I agree with the idea that he'll try to walk through Khan but Khan will be faster. I hope it's still on. A quality win for Khan if he can pull it off.

Reading on ESPN, Khan-Barrera will be PPV in the USA. Hope this fight comes off. MAB did not look bad in this 3 round fight.
