    Comparatively incredible to Calzaghe's, yes.

Comparatively incredible to his contemporaries (Oscar, Hopkins, Barrera, Morales etc), no.

    Superior to his contemporaries?

I agree that fighting a shot fighter for cash is poor, but not despicable.

BUT, fighting Jones AFTER YOU HAVE SAID THAT HE WAS SHOT FOUR YEARS AGO AND A WIN OVER HIM THEN WAS WORTHLESS is indeed despicable.

No. His resume is not as good as Barrera's or Morales's or Oscar's or Hopkins's. It is roughly on par with Tito's and Jones's and Toney's and Pacquiao's. It is superior to Calzaghe's and Tszyu's and Marquez's. I am unsure of how to place Mosley's at the moment.

I think people have issues with Floyd's personality (with good reason) and that clouds their judgement of not only his ability as a fighter, but also his resume.

Granted, there are a few names missing, but that is hardly an exception these days, is it?

I agree with you about Calzaghe but I strongly disagree with you with regards ti Mayweather. These are all tremendous fighters but i'd say only Oscars is superior.

It's a very good resume, just not a great one. Mayweather had great talent, not absolute elite talent like Leonard or Whitaker, but great talent, and I genuinely don't think he made the most of it. Had he fought Tszyu, Mosley, Williams etc, his standing would be far better than it is currently as he would most likely have beaten them.

  9. I too find it repulsive that Joe Calzaghe forced Roy Jones Jr into fighting him. He' s just a big bully.
..and to only offer him 10 million dollars was adding insult to injury.

Shite post but cool avatar, I haven't seen that pic before. You should align yourself more with the fighting spirit of that man than waste time defending someone like Calzaghe.

You "waste" enough time talking **** about him, that seems rather hypocritical.

I think there will always be opponents out there which a great has missed... For me the wins over Corrales, Hernandez, Hatton and an in form Gatti were mightely impressive. The De La Hoya win too was a good one... and this is forgetting all the other A-B fights he had against pretty outstanding opposition. Maybe I'm a bit blinded but Williams is not going to go down as an ATG.... The Mosley fight never made sense after Mosleys poor patch of form post Forrest and Tszyu could have fought Mayweather or Hatton and took Hatton, who Floyd then trounced. I can see where your coming from but with the greatest of respect disagree.

I think the point is, that Calzaghe was on record as saying Jones was shot, and because he was shot, Calzaghe didn't wish to fight him, because any 'w' over a shot Jones would be meaningless.

A few years later, when Jones is even more shot-to-****, Calzaghe decides to fight him, and pretend this was a serious and competitive superfight between two guys capable of beating each other, when the reality was, at this stage on both their careers, it was a total mismatch and a farce, but a lot of people bought into this bull**** scenario, so more fool them.

This whole affairs casts Calzage in a very poor light.

I actually gave Jones a good few rounds with my wishful blinkers on.... He performed really well for an old dude. Every credit to roy.... His talent is something else.

Mayweather has key names missing from his lightweight, junior welter and welter resume. It smacks of avoiding the most threatening fight out there for him. It surely can not be a coincidence this seemed to happen every time, but there always seems to be an excuse.
