He was talking about possibly retiring following a win over St. Pierre... might he do so anyways even though he lost?

It's not like he needs to fight to make a living.

If he really retire, then, he was the weak minded after all.
He need to go to 155, and fight Kenny Florian

He needs to crush Kenny Florian, then all will be forgotten and he can move on and do as he pleases from there.

c'mon bj. use that loss to motivate you or better yet talk to GSP and most probably he'll tell you that, "this loss is the best thing that will ever 'appen to you". Then go back to lightweight and tear apart every lightweight in the ufc.

Bj will probably never fight 155 again, the guys ego is crushed by a bigger man(not just physically)

..to go back to a smaller weight would be a step down for him.

BJ Penn is already the greatest 155 lb fighter in MMA history, its unfair to hold a loss to the undisputed 170 lb no1 against him, we need more fighters like BJ Penn, he could have stayed at 155 & cemented his legacy even further by wiping out the entire division but he challenged himself to the limit & came up short, at least he tried, he is a true warrior with the heart of a lion & no quit in him & if GSP were not the champ at 170, Id give BJ a brilliant chance of becoming champion there.

155 is better for Penn, not only because of the size of opponents but also for his fluidity.

Penn should fight Florian before retiring then if there are no worthwhile challengers out there either retire or maybe pick a mediocre 170 lb fighter to test himself against as hopefully GSP will be at 185 looking for a Silva fight by then, thats one thing GSP can take from Penn, step up & give the fans their dream fights.

If Penn retires now, he will go down as another one of the sport's coulda-woulda-shouldas.
