Not even Mr Bunce has found out what is going on with Choi. He has promised to find out what Choi is up to and Bunce is a man of his word.

Not sure who Choi's manager/promoter is, (Warren??), but whoever it is should be ashamed of themselves. If an opponent isn't announced soon, it will have been a year since the very memorable, sweet performance against Matthews. Choi's 37! What a waste!

    from boxing news online

    Choi
Unfortunately, the future of the Mongolian featherweight is no clearer than last week and his trainer/manager Jack Doughty remains understandably frustrated. "It's not good at all," he said. "Choi's just come back from a month in Mongolia and he's not happy [I nearly said, 'after a month in Mongolia, who would be?' but I resisted]. "We'll fight any featherweight; he'd even fight Khan if he could; he's mentioned it. He's 37 and you'd think any world champion would be interested; no-one in this country is. I offered a fight on my show but he says he wants a big fight. he thought he was heading to the top after beating Mathews."

So why isn't Choi fighting? I asked his promoter Frank Warren. "He's one of those that's tough to sell in good times," said Warren. "And we're in bad times. He's a lovely fella and Jack Doughty's a nice guy and I want them to do the best they can. If there's a local promoter who wants to put Choi on, they can; I don't want to hold him back."
So there we have it – one still lost, two found and one still not happy. I'll try to solve the Rees mystery for next week. Until next time...

After he destroyed the pride of Liverpool no promoter will touch him with a bargepole. Its a shame really because the guy is a decent boxer.

He's with Warren and if even Warren cannot get him a fight on one of his undercards, you've got to wonder whether Choi's ever going to get another fight, unless he travels for peanuts to foreign lands to fight at very late notice. Even then, too big a risk for most fighters/promoters to take on. Maybe they'll wait until he hits 40 before taking him on.:-(

It is absolutely disgraceful Choi has not had another fight. I can see how it'd be a big risk to take on the Mongolian warrior, but there must be somebody out there somewhere to take him on.

    Get it together, Frank.

In other words, Warren is saying Choi is too old to promote as the next best thing and Choi is too dangerous to put in against his upcoming stars/current champions.

Damn shame, the guy could be a title holder if he fought Larios or Cruz.

This PPV that Frank is selling would not have been worse for having Choi v. a decent contender on it, now would it? :-(
