I was just thinking about this. I don't believe I have ever seen where the judges sit and was wondering if they sit side by side. If so couldn't they be swayed by a judge that sees the fight one way. I mean some people can be easily influenced and if they are allowed to sit beside each other I'm sure they talk about the fight and probably sway each others opinion...
Have you guys ever watched a fight? The judges sit on 3 different sides of the ring, right in the middle of their specific side. Watch the ref collect all 3 cards at the end of the round and he walks around the ring to gather them. Very surprising question. atsch
yea they sit seperately. notice how when the reff deducts a point he tells all three sides of the ring that he deducted a point
Also in a couple of fights I've noticed it seems like they are sitting up higher than the people around them.
OK smarty pants, I got a tough one for you. Do the boxers wear shoes? And while we're at it, what shape is the ring?
Not only can they not see everything, some can't see anything. Like that knucklehead who scored the Berto Collazo fight so horribly
Ha sorry just never really pay attention to the outside of the ring. My friends always talk about celebrities that are at the fights and i never even realize it until they point it out. I usually just watch both fighters.
:rofl Nice. Maybe the guy thought that the judges were just guys who paid top dollar for the closest ringside seats ever :think
Actually, it's not such a bad question, because I'm sure when Danny Green fought Marcus Beyer in Germany, the judges were all sitting side by side on the same side of the ring...wouldn't surprise me, being Germany and all :yep However, I noticed this when the fight was stopped on a cut, and the ref was trying to get the scorecards from all 3 judges, and they were sitting together then, so maybe they had originally been on different sides of the ring but came to the same side once the fight was stopped?
The three judges sit on three sides and score independently. (However, in the Hopkins-Calzaghe bout, judge Adelaide Byrd didn't realize that she was supposed to sit FACING THE RING.)
