Willie Limond turns to promoting; Shoots for the WBU world title

look i accept that limmond needs to get paid. but he is ripping of the fans by fighting for the title. everyone said warren was ripping the macnhester fans of when hatton was defending the title. Willie im sorry but you are doing the same to the Scottish fans.

 

have you never watched a WBU title fight then, your just jumping on a band wagon rob.

 

what would you suggest i do then?

 

If the tickets are priced accordingly it isn't a problem.

Of course if it is £100 for a seat in the Gods and three times that for something within binocular view of ringside then fair enough.....

I aren't (and never will be) a fan of these pretend titles, but as long as the fans aren't conned.

It is hardly going to be on Box Office at £15 against a pudding like Dennis Pedersen, it will be like a re-badged domestic title fight....... I'd guess anyways.

Please correct me if I'm wrong BTW.

I don't think the problem is that Limond is boxing 'for' a mickey mouse 'title' - it is because it is the WBU......

Had it been for the IBO (for argument's sake) nobody would care, nor if it were for any other title. The WBU just carries a fair bit of disdain.

If it leads to something good for him, then great, it's not as if he is using it as a facility to duck people and gain a back door world title fight, is it?

Seems reasonable to me, as Willie said, and I said previously...what other suggestions do people have? Seems good to me, plus the more boxers promoting the better..as opposed to others who don't necessarily have the boxers best interests at heart.

 

theres 7 or 8 fights on 2 title fights my one and a scottish title fight, the place holds 1800, weve sold just over a 1000 so far so hopefully we get a near sell out (special price for all ESB participants) !!!! haha

 

If it means I get to see my dream of Frank Warren living out of a cardboard box behind his local Netto, then let's have 26x26x26 alphabet titles.

26x26 = 676.... so x26 again is roughly 2000.
