Roach: "If Pacquiao Fights Smart, He Will Beat Hatton Easily"

I dont think Hatton can throw hands with Pac in the middle of the ring .

Hatton has to charge , hold , and hit to be successful. If Pac can avoid the charges , he should win.

 

Pac gonna ko hatton..Hatton better hope he don't get that check left hook!!! haha

Have you EVER seen Pac throw a check left hook?

 

Had anyone heard of a check hook before Mayweather said it in the post fight presser?

I'm certainly not one that thinks it will be an easy fight, but I think it's very winnable for Pac and I favour him on points at this stage based mostly on his ability to get in and out and duck very low and pivot away from forward movement.

I'm not 100% sure that Mayweather Snr is the coach for Hatton in this fight. When he first had Oscar and was trying to teach him to shoulder roll, it took away from his right hand and looked like he was imitating a style rather than possessing it and fighting naturally and comfortably in that style.

Mayweathers' main strength is defense and I don't see him working enough of a change from the fighter that was seriously buzzed by Lazcano in around the 9th round from memory when the ref gave Hatton a free rest.

I'd prefer to have seen Ricky look at the longevity of his career and gotten a bit more one punch pop for this fight - Pac man can wilt - Both have a history of bleeding in fights - Win loose or draw I think it's going to be a *******.

I'm not really looking forward to the three months of crap about it - But no matter who wins, the three months after are going to be even worse going on fights of late.

first off, ne one whose ever boxed knows what a check hook is. secondly u people shouldnt be quick to condem what roach says. he did make a bold and true prediction about the delahoya fight. I thought pac might possibly win, but no way in hell by stoppage. also, roach is the trainer, hes suppose to say his guy is unbeatable. Either way its going to be one hell of an exciting explosive fight and we should all be looking forward to it.

 

The bad thing is that Pacquiao is not a smart fighter.

What will happen if Hatton makes him face adversity and takes him off his game plan?

More and more I think whoever gets to bully his opponent will win the fight. If its in the gray area then we will have a good fight in our hands. Still a 50-50 for me.

 

The check hook must have meant a left hook not really intended to KO somebody, it was just to prevent or to disrupt an attempt to charge in.
Simply a left hook to the head.

 

I agree with roach. If pacman fights smart and stick to his game plan then he can win this fight.

 

You and Mayweather should have let us lesser mortals into the secret...i've been watching the sport for 35 years and i'd never heard the term before.

 

I started boxing in 1995 and I have often heard Roy Jones or other fighters over the year drop "chin check" or "body check" - If any of you guys are seriously going to say that everybody has been saying check hook for years and years and that the term wasn't at all popularised after the Hatton fight then that's fine.

It's like Mr Garrison and Chef talking about black peoples words for your house: Crib->hizzle->heezy then flippity floppity foo.

3/4 of the boxing board posters of the world started using check hook like they've been saying it their whole lives...it's a left hook, just like boxbox said.

 

If Manny fights smart he'll find a way to back out of this fight and find a lesser opponent! :yep

He's got no chance in this one, Hatton TKO stoppage early.

 

Roach has magic crystal ball that never missed a single prediction for pac. One week before the fight, if he declares Pac is now 100% in condition and very smart, then Pac will win it.
