dont fight for a title that means as much as the swimming badge i won aged 8.

the fans want to see willie limmond, the only press your getting for it being for the WBU has been negative.

spend the cash that you would on sanctioning fees and judges on getting a better opponent.

 

Its also a fact that he's using this as a stepping stone and he makes no bones about it.

 

so what would you suggest i do and who would you suggest i fight and iv been getting very good press up here for this show, rob give a serious answer now, not one like the last one

Don't see the issue at all. The WBU has proven to be a good stepping stone in the past and it's not as if Willie is trying to make out that it is worth more than it is. Looks a decent card, best of luck with it all mate.

 

ok, give me an idea of, what percentage of your opponents fee would the wbu sanctioning fees fall into. if you took that amount do you feel you could get a more well known opponent.

Lee Meager or John Fewkes. promote it as Scotland vs England. Lee McAllister in an all Scottish bout. Do you think if you took away the WBU money you would be able to afford one of them. At the minute your fighting some african guy even you have not heard off.

Boxers, TV Companies have taken the **** out of us boxing fans for years with this WBU crap. It turns away potential fans. people do try and pass it of as a world title fight and non boxing fans will think its a world title when they see it being advertised.

the people that have taken the **** the most with the WBU have been the promoters, and now that your a promoter yourself, don't expect people not to take the **** out of you if your fighting for the WBU.

Willie when you first came on this forum, it was because everyone was getting behind you for having the guts to go to america, move up in weight and take on a world ranked home town fight, Dimitry Salita. For whatever reason that fight did not come off, and i along with everyone else on this forum got behind you. When you "beat" Khan but it got robbed from you, i wasn't on the forum then, but i can imagine everyone eas supporting you. Now you are doing something that I as someone that loves boxing cannot agree with. These belts rewin the sport. You cannot expect to not get a negative reaction for this.

If people are going to praise you for stepping up and taking a hard fight, dont expect fans like me to not have a go and take the **** if your going to fight unknown africans for bull**** belts.

I am actually seriously pissed of about how I am the only person on this forum that has put this to you Willie. Allot of people on this thread are kissing you arse becuase your a pro boxer, but im not scared of saying what i think, and i would tell you the same thing (all be it shitting myself) if i was in a room with you. I am actually considering leaving the forum I cannot beleive every week theres people on here taking the **** out of fighters that have previously fought for the WBU, WBF, IBO even the WBO. But when someone comes on here and says they are doing it everyone kisses there ass.

The WBU is a **** take belt, so I am going to take the **** out of it. Good luck with your career Willie i hope a top promoter realises that your a decent name or than you get a shot at the Commonwelth or British titles soon, but im not gonna keep my mouth shut about anyone fighting for the WBU.
