"To hold the title for as long as he did is an absolutely phenomenal achievement"
I was delighted with the way he finished his career," said Hatton.
"To be perfectly honest, with everything that Joe had achieved in his career, if he didn't get the chance to top the bill in Vegas and Madison Square Garden, I think it would have been a crying shame."
He has fought everyone that's been put in front of him," said Hatton.

"His best wins were Lacy and Kessler as they were unbeaten and ambitious.
"And to be honest, beating Roy Jones Jr and Hopkins are equally as good results regardless of age. "Anybody who tries to put Joe Calzaghe's record down doesn't know what they are talking about as far as I'm concerned."

CORRECT! thats a lot of knobs on ESB though....:think

This coming from the man who thinks the P4P #1 is a transferable title that you can "win".

shut up Wicky you thick, tiresome twat. Talking a load of pish as usual.
Notice how Hatton relates things back to himself as usual about topping the bill at so and so etc. Self-obsessed or what?

    Ricky Hatton talking ****....well, there's a surprise:roll:

"His best wins were Lacy and Kessler as they were unbeaten and ambitious.
"And to be honest, beating Roy Jones Jr and Hopkins are equally as good results regardless of age"

No, his best wins were Kessler and B-Hop; Lacy and Jones come way behind.

His best performance was probably against Lacy (Kessler one was very good as well), but the result has become less significant as time passes; he may have ruined Jeff with that fight, but we'll never know. Could well be that Lacy was just **** the whole time.

Marvellous Marvin Hagler thinks that Calzaghe needs to fight the current version of Tarver to seal his legacy.

Sadly boxers, sometimes, most the time, don't make the best of boxing historians.

I like Hatton, but the fact that he thinks he will become p4p no1 by beating Pac really does show him up.

It's all knee jerk at the moment anyway, Calzaghe only retired yesterday, let the dust settle a bit.
