This was around the time of the Bowe DQs, Golota had that really dirty fighter mean guy kind of rep so Lou explained how ironic it was for Golota to have such a reputation but at the same time try and be so honest. :!:

    Sounds good. :good

I seem to recall a story that Lou Duva once said where he went into a convenience store with Andrew (I think this was shortly after he had been in America), and when they walked out Andrew proudly showed him a bag of chips that he stole! Lou went on to reprimand him and tell him he can't be doing things like that.

I remember reading in KO magazine how just a few days after Golota lost to Lewis, he and some Polish friends were getting pissed drunk at a night club and were getting very rowdy so they were all asked to leave. Supposedly Golota and his pals left while shouting "**** AMERICA!!!"

Then there was the time he supposedly beat up some guy in Poland in front of a hotel because the guy had his car parked in the way of his taxi. Golota allegedly jerked him out and beat the **** out of him. The guy received a concusion and tried sueing Golota. This was right before he came out of retirement and fought Dixon. I remember this cause his comeback was put in jeopardy when Golota decided not to even show up for his court date.:patsch

Did everyone see Golota on the Conan O'Brian show just after the Bowe riot? Conan was his usual goofball self mocking Golota's dirty tactics in the ring. They even showed a clip of Golota biting Po'uha. Golota saw the clip and said "I have nice teeth" and laughed.

Then at the end of the interview, Conan said "Can you do me just one favor, will you please say 'asta la vista baby'." And instead Golota replied with an Ivan Drago "I must break you."

Two of my all time favorite Golota quotes:

Referee Wayne Kelly explained "I was aware of Golota's previous ring antics so when I went into the dressing room of Golota's before the fight I said 'Andrew, I don't want any of that stuff going on tonight' and he looked me right in the eyes and said 'I do what I have to to win."

I mean damn...he was basically telling the referee to go **** himself, if he decides he wants to foul, so be it!

And then of course there is the famous "I had to bite the mother ****er"

That's a pretty clever response. I need to see this on youtube. Golota's english is bad enough today (mostly because of the stuttering though). Can't imagine what it was back then.

He was really something beautiful (for a HW) to watch in there. I still say in his day, Golota had the best jab & 1-2 combo since Ali.

    (((((((((((((GO YOUNG GOLOTA)))))))))))))):happy

One of my favorite Golota moments was the preview of each fighter before the Bowe I fight.

First they showed Bowe with his family etc... givin interviews and what not. Than after a while, they showed Golota but first some other Poilish things. They took the Camera from left to right, paused it for a while, and showed famous Polish stuff. It went somthin like this, the narrator:

"Lech Walesa. Famous Polish politician and freedom fighter. -->

Pope John Paul the II, famous Polish Pope. -->

    Wyborowa, famous Polish wodka. --->

Fredric Chopin, famous Polish composer -->

Kielbasa i Pierogi, famous Polish Cuisine. -->

Andrew Golota, Ehhh, not so famous Polish boxer."

    Than Golota says:

"Maybe im not so famous now, but I will be, after this fight."

I got that **** on tape too, maybe one day Ill find a way to put it on youtube.

Holy crap. That beginning your talking about with all the famous Poles & then the last one they show is Golota...I thought was the greatest Polish Pride stuff I've ever seen. I recorded it, too.

AND THEN ERASED IT BY MISTAKE!!! I was sick after that...:tired

Man, if you can figure out a way to get that to Youtube, that WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I've got to see that again!:!:
