Listen Freddy.......if Margarito's wraps hardened like Hopkins described Trinidad's wraps would do......then the lab analysis of Margarito's wraps will come out clean (no actual plaster involved)....just tape and guaze, and that will be the end of it.......

Margarito and or his trainer will only be in trouble if its found that a substance other than gauze and tape was involved.

Under Hopkins description of hardened wraps to feel like plaster, there is not a damn thing that that any commission could do to Margarito, because it only involved tape and gauze and a CSAC inspector was there to see Margarito wrap, as he signed off on them.

It wont stop. Their hero got punked. What was more interesting and what proved he was not that full of **** he talked more so about the fight in the later rounds as the glove padding gets more worn in and thats when you would start to actually feel the impact of those hard wraps. Nazim definitely knows the technique and the ins and outs. He may have or may have not. But I doubt he would put his name out there to be hypocritical. He does not put his name out there very much like say Roach/ Mayweather Sr. etc etc those who want recognition. I think the Margarito thing was a mental game and that he didnt think for a second that he used plaster when he seen all the extra tape and quaze he was using.

I think there's truth to this.

Ever wrap your hands yourself? If you don't wrap them correctly, you'll feel like you are punching with much less force. Wrap them right, and your punches feel sharp and powerful.

And that's without the use of gauze and all of that.

Fred your only mad because Margarito got caught, not because it boxing. Boxing has had a black I for some time now, due to other incidents in the sports. Margarito is not the first fighter caught for doing something illegal or outside the rules of boxing and he wont be the last, but the fact is Margarito has been caught and he will to face the consequences for his action like everyone else before him.

they comment is suspect but like anything else....he's right, it's only cheating if someone catches you. I don't think it means he's done it but he's an expert in the game so he knows what to look out for. Sure Bhop is a dirty fighter but there are MANY who are dirty fighters.....loading your hands is something completly different.

Right....Papa Trinidad shot himself in the foot. He knew that there was a correct or legal way to wrap the hands but with his pride he acted as if he had nothing to hid or was doing nothing wrong when it was painfully obvious there was!

If no one knew then who could say otherwise?:think But I see your point....it's like the saying "if a redwood falls in the forrest and no one is around, does it actually make a noise?"

Anyone doing anything like illegal wrapping, taking cushion OUT of the glove as in the Luiz vs. Resto match with that ******* Panama Lewis or juicing should be grounds for severe punishment or outright banning. Anyone that needs to cheat to gain an edge has no confidence in themselves (or their fighter).

What I would like to know is why is the boxing commission's man unable to detect these things? It would seem that as the commission rep he would know and be able to spot every questionable tactic. Perhaps these men need more in depth training? They have a burdon of responsibility if they allow a fighter to enter the ring and injure another after they have signed off on the wraps.

people think i'm upset at the fact that it's "margarito", and that aint even the case...since when the **** was i ever a margarito nuthugger, sure i'm a fan, just like i'm a mosley fan, but i aint defending this man if he's found guilty....

there's a lot of questions that are gonna rise if he's found guilty, and that's the black eye for the sport that i'm talking about....

if he's clean, then there's gonna be a lot of crow being eaten on that day, but till then, this **** just keeps pissing me off more and more....

and what are they gonna do about steroid users, i mean if it give you extra strenth, power etc etc, shouldn't that be just as bad ??

I'd like to see Nazim and a circle of other respected trainers contacted and brought in to educate the various athletic commissions about proper wrapping technique, the same way I've said for years that judges should be taught by a panel of ex-fighters and impartial observers how fights should be scored. In the end, not all trainers and fighters are created equal, which is supposedly why commissions exist, to protect the fighters. This idea that Nazim Richardson is the only man on earth capable of identifying dangerous wraps needs to be dealt with.

Hopefully some kind of plan moving forward is devised that goes beyond scapegoating Margarito.
