How do you English and Scottish feel that a Welsh fighter is Britains best?

man, I have to laugh when I see posts like this, "the jocks dont like us lovely englanders jam packed with wholesome english goodness" nonsense.

Englanders ****in hate us!!! Well IMO anyway.

****in TV. I live in Scotland(did you know that?) & we have to suffer the majority of our TV shows being english.
& day after day, anytime I see english tv shows they are ALWAYS getting tore into scots, slagging us off & belittling at every opportunity.
You should check out my shameless thread as a classic example of jock hating. Its in the archive, & no-one could defend the show when I showed it up for jock hating.
Some tried of course, but they knew your boy Dunk was right & their attempts to defend the shows standpoint fizzled out.

I seen nother show recently, my missus was watching it. It was on channel 4, a 'sitcom'(I use the term loosely of course) & the main character had a fight with a tramp. I said to the missus before he spoke "I bet the tramps a jock" & sure enough, when he spoke, he was scottish & the englander gave him dogs abuse about being disgusting & smelly etc.

Mighty Boosh. Seen that? Oh yeah, another scottish alchoholic tramp. You lot are at it ll the time, if you need a ******, junkie, alkie, tramp, scumbag or utter moron, they always cast a scotsman. Listen. I dont hate you Hotti. I got no problem with real englanders. Its unionists I hate! Anyone who classes themselves as british first, scots/welsh/english second, its those who have me shaking my fist at my monitor in a mixture of anger/utter dismay the most.

Thats my point i don't dislike any scots i just don't think the two nations mix well becasue of history and such. I am english not british thats what gets written on anything i ever have to give a nationality as, you should be proude of being english/scottish/welsh etc.

I do agree with you in the extents of the scottish getting abit of a bad rap through tv and media, i would say however the shoe is on the other foot sporting wise. I don't mind scotland doing well and most english people don't but scotland and some of the other home nations at times seem more intrested in england losingthan winning on their own sometimes.
I would say in boxing it's not quite the same as we tend to support which ever home nations fighter as long as its not country and againt country.
I know you might come back with people disliking aa or harrison say but most countries have fighters that people don't like, kahn and other ae pretty well hated on the english side of things. Myself i always used to like harrison tough guy and a warrior but i will admit i never liked or rated aa, i always thought he was european quality at best.

 

Never been a big fan of AA myself to be honest, but I will always cheer him on as a scotsman. Its just the way I am, I always cheer on the jock!

Look at that Lee McAllister for instance. Up in Aberdeen defending WBU titles against no-marks, & then he goes in against IMO a distinctly average fighter in John Murray & gets KO'd(I thought he could have went on but quit)
Yup, Lee made me very angry that night cos he made such an arse of himself. However I will always support him, cos hes a scotsman!
See, people here never care to ask me anymore about why i am the way I am, they just class me as some sort of silly nuthugger who cos he cheers scottish fighters on, thinks that they are all great!!!

I take the hard option, being a scottish boxing fan, cos its a nothing sport in Scotland. No-one really gives a **** about boxing in Scotland. & ll I get is dogs abuse on here! I can handle it though, I wouldnt have it any other way to be honest, I love the rivalry

& you are right about the boxing thingy, I always wonder how people can be so tribal when it comes to football for instance on these shores, but when it comes to boxing all is forgotten, & the national boundaries come down & everyone is a brit?

Clarkson is a complete top prize prat who is well known for his digs at anything deemed to be scottish.

Did'nt his latest outburst come in Australia which is ammusing considering there dislike of English toffs and that through personal experience take far more kindly to the Scots so he has managed to look a nobhead both here and abroad.....Well done Jeremy (****ing stupid name aswell)
