Gambling with Stovepipe

probably down from the start of this thread, but up about 800 or so from the start of my original betting a few years back (every bet documented and archived on the web in another forum), over the course of a ton of bets.

for 2009 I am down 10 bucks now.

It was still a rational bet. I think Collazo would take a rematch. I think he was a bit out of practice. He took a few rounds off. And the decision could have easily gone his way. Factoring in that Berto was a house fighter, which I did, I gave Zo a 45% chance of winning, and at those odds at was a good bet, and the house fighter bit is probably what edged it for Berto.

Well, I can't promise that this thread is made of win, but it IS made of honesty. Something you won't find in boxing forums when it comes to people owning up to their pics.

I knew it was a risky pic but it paid very well and Zo nearly did it, many believe he did.

Did you see Albert take apart Sanders? He didn't lose a round! People can say, well, big deal, everyone knew he would win, but if you can put together a lot of those -250 type bets and step on them, without stepping on a landmine (too often) you can make a lot of money.

Anyways, bottom line is I am ten bucks down for the year.

 

I don't expect Collazo to get better, its just that I don't think he was 100% seeing he hasn't faced decent opposition in a long time. In a rematch, I think he will be, and that could be the difference - that, and what I would expect would be him fighting a smarter fight.

However, I wouldn't be getting great odds on the rematch which is what seduced me into making the bet. Collazo would probably be something like +130 :-((

I like Ngoudjo's chances anywhere but especially at home with the Bute fight's ref. Urango can hit but he is a bit slow and plodding, and Ngoudjo can recover well, especially if the ref stops and checks him for a cut in the middle of a Urango assault or other such shennanigans.
