I can't believe all the hype Chad Dawson gets on here. He was soundly beaten by Glen Johnson of all people. Kessler would destroy him at whatever weight, yet people are hailing him as the Future of Light Heavyweight division

Destroy is a strong word. Last I checked Kessler went the distance with Sartison and was nearly schooled by Calzaghe. Kessler vs Dawson is a competitive fight.

Dawson is definately not a push-over.

P4P lists might be a bit early but he's not the most overrated around.

Funny, because lost time I checked Kessler knocked Sartison clean out and took 4 rounds off Calzaghe.

Not true at all.Johnson gave him a tough fight and won rounds but he didnt do enough to win the fight.

He has already won 2 titles at a fairly young age for LHW.Kessler destroying him is bull****.Dawson is a tall rangy slick southpaw something Kessler hasnt seen before(not even with Joe).

    About 20,around that,17,18,19,around that.What do you mean 3 guys?
He can beat a shot Tarver 100 times it doesn't make him good,or being called the best p4p by the guy who retired in his prime and did the best cherrypicking in the game.

almost went the distance is what i meant to say. And despite taking 4 rounds, Kessler at times looked outclassed in that fight.

Kessler is a very good fighter, I'm just surprised ppl think he would walk through Dawson like some bum. I think you're underrating Dawson, not overrating him.

Dawson does need some more top opponents closer to their prime to really prove himself. However, he would outbox the robot Kessler pretty easily.

Stylistically, he is a nightmare for Kessler, who himself is severely overrated.

IMO and i have always said it , dawson is a very talented , good to watch fighter.

IMO he beat glen johnson, winning rounds big like johnson did only wins you the round.

dawson won more of the rounds and so won the fight.

as to overated , it is only boxing board hardliners around the world who know he is, the american general public so far have shown no intrest in him.

he has been in good fights and shown good abilty, i honestly do not know why he has no fanbase.

he is only promoted on message boards , outside he is unknown, perhaps the HBO show v tarver will help, although i fear it will be so low key of an event that it will again go under the radar from all but the most hardcore boxing fans.

i have seen him since he was on the calzaghe v lacy bill, and his left hand has become better, before that he was a one armed fighter.

is dawson overated boxing abilty wise ,IMO no.

have dawson fans been guilty of making him more of a draw and star in boxing than he actually is, yes.

but that is not the same as being called overated.

sorry...that title belongs to David Haye :yep

Dawson is a pretty slick boxer that seems very solid in almost all areas. He dislayed a lot of intangibles against Johnson and was utterly dominant against Tarver. His defense looks like an area of big concern though. He still has an upside as long as he doesn't take too much damage.
