its a test of composer, being able to adapt as well as adversity.

i take more notice and obviously respect the fighter more when it happens and the fighter comes back than never happened at all. (pavlik-tayor, calzaghe-hops, marquez-pac 1, etc)

 

Some fighters need it to wake up, other fighters just don't have great balance and get knocked down because of it. I think guys like Gamboa is an example of the former and Tito is the latter.

 

Very simple...if this happens to someone vs. AA the fight would be over short after...

 

9 out of 10 times the fighter it happens to is usually mentally beaten and ends of retreating and eventually losing...but every once in a while a great fighter uses it as motivation and wakes up and goes on the offensive to win

 

Depends entirely on the mental toughness of the fighter.

It's going one of 2 ways.

1 - Either it destroys their self-confidence & ruins their game plan.
2 - Or it gives a fighter a wake up call and they adjust.

I mean 2 recentish examples using British fighters, Khan vs Prescott. He got knocked down, and his defence and gameplan went to ****, he got backed up again and knocked the **** out.

And Calzaghe against Hopkins, get caught with a perfect shot, he knew he needed to adjust his gameplan to get back into the fight, he did and he won.

I'd agree. Unless it is a damaging KO where the fighter is clearly hurt, an early "caught you didnt I" Knockdown just makes the fighter pissed and embarrassed as hell. And they subsequently go on to kick the other fighters ass.

Depends on the fighter. Guy like Wladmir it would be detrimental, someone like JMM it isn't a biggy.
