Regardless he has a better resume than Tyson and the direct fights just make it clear.

No way,it can only enhance his legacy.I don't et this thinking......if he losses...so what,he is old and shot but if he wins(and he did beat Valuev) it can only be better.

I've seen so many guys place Holyfield above Lewis.

    Now thats just plain wrong.

Jack Dempsey is WOEFULLY underrated by modern boxing fans; Lewis greatly OVERRATED. When you look back on how those who SAW Dempsey and lived through his era ranked him, he was considered right up there with Joe Louis. He was one of the most dominant champs of all-time and he gets a bad rap today.

Bull. You never saw Holyfield taken out early twice by second rate HWs in the heart of his career - heck he was never even taken out early EVER!! And he actually beat two of the other top guys in his era (Bowe and Tyson) when they were formidable opponents, not when they were on the downside like Lewis did with Holyfield and Tyson.

Like I said, Lewis is greatly overrated by many boxing fans.

Holy is no Top10 ATG at Heavyweight. Too many losses. A 24-10-2 record at Heavyweight doesn´t make you that great. His legacy comes from his Cruiserweight era, but that doesnt count for the HW.

I would rate him as a Top20. He was entertaining and a warrior, but ATG Top10 Heavyweights are dominating fighters and Holy never dominated.

    You're putting a guy with a 42-10-2 27ko record above Lewis 41-2-1 32kos.
Great fighters get beat. I for one don't rate McCall and Rachman, but they're not fodder, McCall was never ko'd by anyone and Lewis avenged those anyway.
With your logic of defeats Marciano would be above Ali and Louis but common sense states otherwise.
Mike Tyson? You taking the ****? When Tyson fired Rooney the fighter that was disappeared, FACT. Between Douglas and Holyfield look at his resume, it's ****. Oh and lets completely forget the 4 years of inactivity.
As for Bowe, now I KNOW you're taking the ****. Lewis would have fought Bowe anytime any place, the world knows this. He wanted no part of Lewis. Formidable opponents :patsch
Tyson isn't anywhere near Lewis's finest hour. Most Boxing fans who have the slightest clue about Lewis's career know Tyson is barely a top 5 win. Beating Tyson was just something Lewis had to do.

As heavyweights Lewis beats Holyfield on just about every definition of Great.
His resume is packed with wins over top ranked contenders, dominating some of which he was the underdog.

Lewis is greatly UNDERRATED by the minority of boxing fans.
But then, I guess someone who puts him 13th on there ATG HW's isn't exactly looking at things from a fair perspective. Me neither but at least I fall on the side that 95% of people are on.
