Margo, only stopped by mosley through sheer volume of punches and exhaustion. His iron chin prevailed against Cottos big hits

Well let's see what puncher's have tested each respective chins...

Mayorga: Forest, Tito, DLH, Mosley, and Vargas
GREATEST TESTAMENT OF BEARD: Tito Trinidad

Margarito: Cintron, Cotto, Williams, and Mosley
GREATEST TESTAMENT OF BEARD: Shane Mosley

In retrospect, Margarito was KO'd by Mosley because of his body attack. Sure he tee'd off on his face and throw colossal shots, but it was the body work that truly worn him down.

In retrospect, Mayorga took monstrous hooks from Tito by his own volition and danced afterwards. He also took DLH's best hooks and still came back and fought a few more rounds...by then his chin was broken by Tito and not as resistant.

We'll have to see what happens to Margarito during the court case to see if he's still able to box again. And if he is going to fight again, we'll have to see how his chin holds up. If he goes down again from another big puncher significantly early...I think it's safe to say that Mayorga has the better chin hands down.

One thing that is also needed in consideration is that Mayorga CHOSE to take these punches, while Margarito took them because of his shitty defense and his belief that he could take 'em anyway. There was truly only ONE opponent that tee'd off on Margo's head and that was Mosley. Whereas Tito is the much stronger puncher at 147 than almost any WW in boxing history and it took SEVERAL tee-off's before finally breaking down.

But seeing the puncher's list in Mayorga's is far more credible than Margo's

No way. Margarito is the better fighter. Mayorga beat Forrest and then other than that has all losses. Yeah he beat Vargas so what. Mayorga is one of the most undiciplined and overrated fighters in the history of boxing.

Maybe so, but the question was "who has the better chin". Based on their recent performances against the same opponent I'm going with Margarito.
