Danny Green arrived at Subiaco oval this morning in a helicopter and announced he IS coming back and WILL fight Anthony Mundine in Perth.

Danny was quotated as saying 'It's not for the money. It's about revenge'!

Oh Danny, you can b/s some of the people some of the time, but this is about the $$$$$$$, first and foremost.

Hope you get revenge in the process. But this is about the money mate!

if it was just about $'s why the warm ups?
I agree this pays a part- just as you don't go to work for free but to say first and foremost you obviously don't know much about him.

This fight is terrible news imo. Does this now mean Mundine after defeating Shannon Taylor this week will have yet another 1 or 2 "tuneups" against no marks/never were's/never will be's then fight an inactive Danny Green who he previously schooled. No boxing fan wants this. This absolutely sucks.
Both of these fighters should have aimed up a year ago. Green after winning his 175 title against a mannequin who refused to fight shouldn't have thrown his much cherished "world title" in the bin and Mundine, well it's all been said before so i won't bother.

    I'm back too!:D
I'll back Green to finish Mundines career/circus act.
Mundine's tune ups will be Lester Ellis, Guy Waters and Sean Sullivan so that he can get used to fighting against previously retired opponents.

I respect your opinion Shiner, and Danny will be busting to win, including a tune up or two as preparation. But the negoiating all these months hasn't been about choice of opponent, it's been about the height of the pile of bank notes.

This is probably 10% about revenge for Danny, and equally 90% plus about the money for Mundine.

After this announcement, does anybody actually think Choc is 'career' oriented? ...........SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!!!!!

    Agreed.

I can't wait for someone to just retire Mundine. He has turned boxing in Australia into a joke.

Got the chance to quickly talk to Danny on 6PR, was in the car when I heard him in studion so called the talkback number. Had a few questions for him regarding opponents, who his trainer will be but only got out one 'Will Nader Hamden be one of your comeback fights?' to which I got the straight bat reply of 'We're looking at few blah blah fought Mundines opponents before etc etc' and before I got a chance to ask anymore my bloody phone went out on low battery, not happy.
Still, better than my last attempt.

Good work, until the battery failed!

Loved watching Danny's fights, read his book, respect the guy. But I reckon he quit after Drews because in his mind he knew it was time. He's been seranaded & seduced by Nasser & Mundine Inc ever since, and now he's doing it for all the wrong reasons.

Having had a chat with him and listened to whatever else Danny might have had to say, what are your thoughts Leon??

As I only tuned in halfway through and didn't hear any more after my phone cut out I can't really give an opinion. I probably only heard 5 or 6 minutes of the whole thing. My highlight though was the genius who got through and proceeded to give him technical advice, 'Throw your punch when Mundines bringing his hands back from throwing at you.' Brilliant.
I'm pretty annoyed at myself as thats the first time I've ever run out of battery, normally right on top of it. Really wanted to ask him about the timing of the announcement, waiting until Mundines come right down to Middleweight before saying he'll fight him at lt Heavy.
He seems pretty adamant its got to be at Subi oval and the more I think of it the more it makes dollars and sense. That being said, it seems he wants it all in his favour this time so will Choc be greedy/stupid/smart enough to accede to all these riders?
