who is the better fighter? Vitali or Wlad?

... and Vitali has said that Wlad is better. Vitali also said years back that he stopped sparring with Wlad because Wlad hits too hard for him to consistently spar with. Neither of them would state anything negative about the other. That's rather obvious. I think that the difference in mental/physical "toughness" between them is vastly over dramatized as well.

They are both top notch boxers. Two different styles, and they would match up against different opponents in a different fashion. Wlad loves to lead, loves to let his offense put his opponent on defense, picks them apart, and puts them away. Vitali loves to use his height and reflexes. He counter punches his opponents as they overextend, picks them apart... slowly puts them on defense.... and puts them away.

The big difference in them used to be that Vitali was more sturdy and calm when being attacked, and Wlad has a much more explosive offense. Wlad has shown great improvements in how he deals with adversity, and Vitali has also opened up his offense more as well. Both of them have improved in the areas that they needed to work on the most.

I think that the difference in dealing with adversity was due to the fact that Wlad is a much better technical boxer. He went so long without really being tested, and really had no idea what to do when he was hurt. Vitali on the other hand isn't as good technically, and just like most fighters... you learn how to handle yourself when buzzed from a punch, when your opponent is on the attack, ect... Wlad was so dominant, that he never had to learn these things. Now, he has evolved into a much better fighter due to his losses. No longer will he be caught off guard by an opponent. He now knows how to survive and shake the cobwebs if he gets buzzed, and he also knows how to think and fight when he is tired.... something that Steward instilled in him by making him spar so many rounds. Also, by doing this Wlad has learned how to pace himself properly to avoid wearing himself out by throwing unnecessary punches, and putting himself in bad positions by overextending on big power shots before they were set up.

Vitali is a better all around fighter.

 

It isn't as if you can just judge by that. You also have to take into consideration that Wlad has fought 17 more fights, almost 90 more rounds, and has fought against a much higher level of opposition on average. Is isn't as if it is often that you see Wlad lose a round either.

This take nothing away from Vitali... because he is a brilliant boxer. Unfortunately injuries have kept him from fighting through his prime years when he could have taken on many more top contenders.

 

If they were to fight tomorrow Vitali would knock Wlad out.

Not to mention they have fought the same fighter on several occasions and Vitali stamrolled Sanders and Peter and Purrity where Wlad struggled with all 3 and lost 2 of those fights by KO. The exception being Byrd who Wlad beat to a pulp twice and Vitali lost to while well ahead on the scorecards because of injury.

There is no way any objective person can tell me Wlad is better or would beat Vitali.

 

Wlad will win by UD.

 

For me Vitaly, better chin, more durable and in recent fights more varied attack. Also seems to be more ferocious and willing to take more risks. Had it not been for his numerous injuries i believe Vitaly would clearly be the top heavyweight without a doubt

And yes, Vitali would brutally KO Wlad.

Vitali has had to clean up way too many of Wlad's mishaps for Wlad to be the better fighter.

I do not dislike Wlad but his older brother would spank him.

 

Once again... I just completely disagree with you on all fronts. There really isn't anything to address that I haven't already addressed 1000 times. We could also say that Wlad cleaned up Vitali's mishaps by knocking out Byrd after Byrd beat Vitali, and knocking out Rahman after everyone said that Vitali was scared to fight him. It's all bull****. Stop living in the past, this isn't 5-6 years ago. Wlad is in his prime right now. He has accomplished more than Vitali can ever hope to accomplish, and he has done so against a higher overall level of opposition.

Vitali, along with every trainer who has ever worked with them say that Wlad is better. Personally, I feel as if they are both top notch, but Wlad is clearly more skilled, and the "toughness" is debatable. People acted like Vitali had no heart after he quit vs Byrd... and then again when he retired. They love to bash on him, unless Wlad is in the equation... then they love to raise Vitali up to drop Wlad down. Usually it's old Lewis fans because Lewis holds a win over Vitali, so they can say "the stronger brother couldn't beat an old, out of shape Lewis, blah blah blah." I don't buy into the bull****.

You guys watch boxing through such fogged up glasses that it kills me. Vitali is a top notch talent, no doubt about it. However, the way you guys act like Wlad is such a vulnerable fighter, and act like he just gets brutally knocked out so easily ****in' boggles my mind. It is as if you guys have only seen his fight against Sanders, and are stuck back in 2003-2004.

 

Vitali never fought Rahman. That argument is bunk. he retired do to injury and now the injuries are healed. The scorecard is:

**** man look at how Vitali beat Sanders and Peter and how Wlad did against those 2 guys. There is NO WAY you can spin this and say Wlad is better. Is Wlad more skillfull? Hell yes. But guess what? Vitali gets results and he would pummel Wlad if they were to fight. Being more athletic/skillful does not always transfer to wins in the ring as we have already seen.

The evidence is there in color I have seen the fights and I know who is better.
