Duran by brutal swarming stoppage. Robinson at 135 is not skilled enough to keep Duran off him for 12. Robinson's physical strength isn't up to dealing with Roberto on the inside. TKO 11 or 12.
Never seen Robinson at 135 so I dont have a prediction but I do know that Duran was a beast at that weight.
co-sign, i've barely seen footage of him at 147, but if he's anything like he was at 147 or even 160 for that matter, i'd take Ray by KO
Duran by TKO. There's a huge difference between this matchup as the weight class changes; anything after LW, I would take SSR.

No, there is none. The pick is based upon the fact that Robinson last made 135 something like 12 months into his career; a novice is being matched with the peak lightweight GOAT.
Thats fair logic, i can agree with that :good I just don't understand when people make predicitons about fighters they havent seen or about fighters who they havent seen at a weight. Not particularly about this matchup, but i browse the classics sometimes and the predictions/ratings about fighters where no or such little footage exists just bewilderes me.....It's an impossible task to say accurately what these fighters were like
Well, I think the key word here is "accurately". Some guys just spend hours delving into old-time fight-reports and records. So a guy like Janitor is far more qualified to comment on a George Dixon-Vic Darchinyan match-up than most because he has such deep experience of Dixon's career. But obviously the best source for a fight pick is footage. There are some of us, though, that don't like to see old, old-timers abandoned because of the lack of footage - you know? And it's also worth remembering these fantasy match-ups are about three things 1 - Learning about the fighter in question. 2 - Expressing an opinion about a fighter. 3 - Fun And in all these areas, a fantasy fight with fighters of whom there is no footage is just as valid as one where there is footage. In my opinion.
Yeah I understand where your coming from, especially about learning about the fighter in question. I would love to know more about these old time guys but I still need to work through all the actual footage that exists of the great fighters, and that will take me a lifetime i reckon. But when delving into these old fight reports and records and then expressing an opinion on the fighter in question, surely its just repeating other peoples opinions on the fighter, it isnt really your own...because thats all you can go on. For example if a fight report said a certain old time fighter showed great speed in a fight, when compared to a modern fighter someone might state 'his speed would be too much to handle'. You don't really know he was that quick, just the guy who watched that particular fight thought he look quick. But anyways I'm sure when i'm older and I've learnt more about the oldtimers i'll be predicting and ranking the guys I haven't seen, i'm sure it's still interesting to do so.

Robinson would be a very weight drained figther. Duran woulkd beat him all around but at higher weight classes no chance for Duran
