if he could speak english and sell his talent i think people would buy him. he is good in the shallowest era in HW boxing. we'll see, if he stays champ for the next 5 years and make 20 defenses, hey he must be considered HW top 20 ATG

I have no idea why he gets no respect.
I've seen the Klitchko brother on the dance floor and let me tell you they can do the robot better than any dancer I've ever seen!!

Not too good at the slosh though....

I suppose they see him as vulnerable with his chin. Also the rest of the HW's outside his brother are probably prime Rahman level, if that. He just has no competition at the moment.

I think that a good explanation would be Vitali's performance against Lennox. As mentioned earlier, Lewis's stock went up after he retired. Vitali will always be remembered by most casual fans by that fight. It's doesn't matter that Lewis was on his way out and out of shape. The fact of the matter is that Vitali has had a competitive fight against a battle tested champion and Wlad hasn't. Wlad has yet to fight his career-defining fight. I'm hoping that Haye could possibly be that fight because I have to admit that I'm getting tired of watching Wlad beat on guys who don't look like they even want to be in the ring with him after they taste a couple jabs.

Finally a voice of reason. People always confuse exciting fighters and fights with class. The HW division has lacked exciting fights, but is not on a lesser level of talent than in previous eras. Dominance can be boring, as is the case in some of Wlad's fights. Something that is so easily forgotten is the fact that many HW contenders would be cruisers today, the division consists of bigger men than during the reigns of Ali, Louis and other past greats. Sure, size isn't everything, but it matters.

Imagine Wlad losing to a former lightheavy, going 12 with fighters in their 40's or struggling with Bobby Chyz; all feats of the great Holyfield, boxing fans would torch him. Imagine Wlad being floored by a 186 pound Cooper, being revived with illegal smelling salts and then winning on cuts, he would be called a fraud.

But that is NOT Wlads fault. The guy constantly fights guys in the top 10. fight after fight after fight. He deserves respect for that :good
