    Banned for a year. With his style he'll only get worse. He won't get any big fights outside of the US. Shane Cotto or Williams won't go to Mexico to fight him. He has no big fight options.

    A year isnt that big a deal for big name boxers these days,but yes you're right; Margo is damaged goods.His options are limited when he returns.

    I'm disappointed in the punishment given to both men. Both deserve to be banned from boxing completely and forever. They are cheaters and I believe that they are downplaying the substance, act, and punishments to save face for boxing. Why else would he get off so easy???

    Margarito was one of my favorites fighters,he just joined the Castillo club..cheater
    and then his trainer taking the blame to protect him.(same as castillo)
    how lame and unfortunate..he didnt need that crap,he's a hell of a fighter.
    now he's just crap.

    I think we've seen his future with Jose Luis Castillo.

    Sad day for Margarito, but if you cheat, you lose. And I don't buy for a second that he "didn't know" what was happening. They were on his hands for Christ's sake.

    I think the punishment was light aas well. He should have at the least been suspended 2 years to send a stiff message. Hell Zab was suspended a year for his role in the riot against PBF. Which one is worse?
